It is a little darker as the light has to travel further, but it's easy to use, this was a 50mm so it has a little wiggle room with dof.

nice pictures nico. i have the 50mm and im really wondering if i should switch to the 65mm l-a. i would use it more for environmental shots for indoors. on 35mm i love the 28mm field of view. i thought 24mm would be ok but it doesnt feel right for me. have you used the 65mm l-a? if so how does the field of view compare to the 50mm indoors?

I just received the Sekor 50 C in the mail and when rotating it in my hand I hear something rattling around. Is this normal for these lenses? The rest of the lens including the glass is in mint condition with no scratches whatsoever. I’m feeling a little bit bummed right now because I am not sure if I should return the lens or not. I know that my Canon 50mm 1.2 L lens makes A similar noise and does not affect image quality. Any knowledge would be clutch and greatly appreciated🙏

All my Sekor Z lenses have a small rattling sound when i shake them, I'd say it has to do with some mechanical parts around the locking mechanism so nothing to worry about. They're beasts, my 50mm once fell off my desk and dented my wooden floor but the lens was fine lol

@CertainExposures5 жыл бұрын

Thank you for this, your family is lovely. When I read “Portraits.RZ67.50mm” I thought well that’s interesting. A wide angle on 6x7 has nothing to do with a wide angle on 35mm. Great work!
@NicosPhotographyShow5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! A fun little experiment.
@randallstewart1754 жыл бұрын
Not so at all! Perspective is a function of camera to subject distance. If we assume that a 50mm on 6x7 format is approximately the same composition distance as a 24mm in 135 format, then when you shoot the same photo on 35mm and 6x7, you will have about the same subject distance, and you will get the same perspective, including the distortion for wide angle. The head and shoulders portrait at 3:00 is a fair example.

The 50mm worked well for these environmental portraits. Ive also been viewing sample images online that were shot with the older Sekor 50mm that was designed for the RB67 with mechanical shutter. Not sure if it's my imagination but looking at your photos in this video, it almost seems like the RZ version of the 50mm seems a little wider with more dramatic distortion compared to the RB version. Have you ever shot with the RB 50mm? It would be interesting to get some confirmation if this really is the case.

hey man i have a question. from what i heard the mamiya uses (for example) a 50mm lens, but because it's a medium format the 50mm on it seems much wider than a 50mm on 35mm camera (like the difference from crop sensor to full frame). even if it's wider it somehow compress the picture to look like a natural 50. i don't know if i am right or not, can you help me out ?
@joanfrancesc4 жыл бұрын
Even though its a 50 in 6x7 it acts more or less like a 24mm so if you were shooting 6x7 and wanted a 50 pov as in fullframe you'd have to go with a 90-110 you can look up medium format crop factor and there'll be more examples

Where you having to compensate for bellow extension in some of the shots, with your metering

He doesn't need to do that. The meter prism that he is using measures through-the-lens and takes care of that. But most people would agree that he prints dark.
