Mike, i wish you had elaborated on the Bobby Locke story and why the US PGA banned him, was it because He was so good? You could also speak about Max Faulkner who won that Open championship in 51 At Royal Portrush and why he never received his honour from the Queen till late in life. Why the great John Daly was never picked to play for the USA Ryder cup after so fantastically winning the PGA in 91 and our Open championship at St Andrews in 95. What a great player he was. The fact that John Daly was denied a place on those American teams,Was to their Shame not his and we love Big JD Why was Ian Woosnam not entered into the PGA hall of fame till after Colin Montgomerie.. Is it just a case of "if your face fits'? All very interesting 🤔

Jack Burke is wrong about one thing, Locke hooded the putter going BACK, then kept a firm left wrist at impact so it pulled from where he was aiming - to the right of course - and rolled beautifully, always a bit further than you expected. Locke always said he put topspin on his putts, I'm not sure that's possible - he just rolled them superbly. PS When he read greens he would always look carefully into the hole, strangely he very rarely removed up loose impediments on or near his line (Peter Allis wrote that).

@@jeffmack4995 That's RYR, and Locke was NOT banned, as Maves claims, because he too good. . Locke had indeed given several advance commitments to appear at tournaments and exhibitions, then had not turned up nor even given adequate notice nor explanations for his absences. The Maves, "Too Damned Good" story is BULLSHIT!
