This video is dedicated to Davey Neves. Davey was a player, teacher and a great ambassador of the Portuguese concertina in the Toronto area. He past away earlier this year. Friend and fellow player Jose Pires is playing a Portuguese folk song on a Ranco diatonic button accordion. These types of accordions are often referred to as a concertina by the Portuguese. They can have up to 4 middle reeds (MMMM) with no switches/registers, which gives it a distinct musette sound.
