That’s what Hendrix was Blues, Rock & Metal all together🎸
@edgarsifuentes32482 жыл бұрын
@Mr. Lazer it does later on like 1970 and late 1969, but Hendrix did it since 1966 and Cream too then Iron Butterfly, then Led Zeppelin, then Black Sabbath and Deep Purple then the rest. Hendrix made the blues heavy so did Cream mixed with physchedelic and hard rock in 1966. Then Iron Butterfly showed up in 1968. Cream were gone then if you know, then before the year ended Led Zeppelin showed up then Black Sabbath in late 1969.
@edgarsifuentes32482 жыл бұрын
@Mr. Lazer it wasn’t called metal but it was metal. I like all of these bands but it started like that. Hendrix and Cream with heavy blues that’s how the term was born. You listened to their discographies?

Moved from their Mesa Boogies to other brands like Krank, pretty sure their pickups changed over the years too, makes a huge difference. Not to mention their crew probably changed over the years, the sound techs have a big part in how they will sound live. Shitty production of their latest albums probably doesn't help their cause much, people don't tend to notice when the album sounds awful to begin with.

Hetfield and Ulrich never gave Kirk and Jason freedom to explore their musical talents outside of Metallica. So, seeing Kirk be let free onstage like this was an absolute honour and joy to behold. The guy is an awesome musician, and I believe we really got to 'feel' his playing and passion when he was let free on the stage.

Garegh62 I would say since he's in the largest band in the world for how many years now that yeah he's a legend. He's never claimed to be the best guitarist in the world, you and others don't seem to understand that. He's a guitar player doing what he wants and doesn't care about the bullshit rat race of trying to become the best. He doesn't need to, notice some of the best are not in bands even half as successful as Metallica.

Seeing Kirk cover this to the soul greats of Tuck and Patti, to blues legend John lee hooker, to Prince, to The red hot chili peppers, and even to a couple of hip hop artists, just shows me that Jimi has influenced all shapes and sizes of different artists, and has such a widespread influence. I've heard quite a few live versions of Hendrix doing Littletle Wing where his tuning was atrocious. Kirk isn't out of tune, but he does hit some notes that are (as Randy Jackson would say) a little pitchy. The speedy licks at the end is just classic Kirk Hammet shredding. It's Kirk doing what Kirk does best. Everyone that plays "Little Wing" puts there own twist on it. It's hard not to because there are hundreds of ways to approach soling to it using chord tones. It's cool that he did it and even cooler that he put the standard Metallica stamp on it so I'm a bit confused by people bitching that Metallica was being Metallica...

What happened ITS that little Wing ITS in Eb tuning AND Kirk Is playing It in Standard tuning. That Is It. I started playing guitar cause of Metallica. Now my biggest influence aré Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Slash AND Kurt Cobain. Kurt Cobain was a huge fan of Metallica AND His favorite album was Ride the Lightning, AND His favorite song was Whiplash. Kurt was a funny character cause he used to pretend that he didnt know anything about music theory AND he knew a lot. He used to play in 7 different tunings in all His work. Like Jimmy Page used to play 7 different tunings as well... Keith Richards play almost everything in Open G tuning , AND some in Open E tuning. Kirk Hammett used mostly Standard tuning, sad but true ITS a whole step down tuning D-G-C-F-A-d or D Standard tuning. AND im in Fingerstyle Guitar players my favorite aré Eiro Naireth, Justin Johnson, Lucas Stricagnoli, Alexandr Misko, Marcin Patrzalek, Kelly Valleau, Fabio Lima, Ash Waiman, Phil Jakes, AND im sorry to forgot yo mentioned others that aré great as well
