Patti played villain Frederica Norman on Season 2 of Pose. If you haven't seen Pose, check it out. It's on Netflix and it's wonderful!

it took her getting into jail to recognize Blanca as a woman. Frederica deserves everything she got.

She absolutely did - and more!

Na. She grew as a person. She didn’t understand before. People in 2024 don’t understand, so expecting somebody born in the 1920’s to understand in the 1980’s is weird.

"I'm in here because I'm a woman." Ma'am you're in there because you set a building on fire which injured 2 firemen. This isn't a feminist moment lol.

Modern feminism is being both empowered and a victim at the same time and deciding which to be depending on the situation.

I mean, she is right, though. So many men do the same shit and get away with it, to this day.

This scene is so powerful because DESPITE her disdain for Blanca, she finally recognized her as a fellow worthy woman deserving of a dream of her own. If you earn the respect of an enemy it is genuine and honest respect.

I love this show. I know she's a villain and I hate her, but this scene has so much power to me, and it makes me so emotional every time I watch it.

I’m glad Frederica developed enough to realize that Blanca is a woman who equally deserves to pursue her dream, and I can sympathize with her being a victim of misogyny in a time when it was still pretty commonplace to scoff at women in the workplace. That being said, she did have it coming when she got put in prison lol, and she was still pretty racist as well so I’m not surprised if she acts even more prejudiced in the future.

She deserved an Oscar for this prison scene!!

I identify with everything she’s saying, and I love that she finally acknowledges she’ll only serve time because she regrets crushing Blanca’s dream, but that said I felt like she was standing on her soap box. She was arrested for breaking the law, and fraud, both of which she did. It would be different if they were trying to make an example of her by trying to say her fraud was by , then I’d be more on board with her saying they only arrested her to make her an example

It would've been perfect if they've let Patti Lupone sings " Lady who lunch" after she threw her phone.

This is prison scene shows the skills of a real actor who is more than worth her salt. I throughly hated her character in this show and at the same time understood her motives however underhanded and cruel they may be. Patti Lupone is a Broadway legend.
