With me I relate and have a strong connection to Poseidon he is my grand ancestor and is my personal guardian that watches over my life. I grew up on the beach all my life as a beach baby I’ve been in pools, and many forms of water itself because my soul came from the ocean itself back 1998 of the Narragansett waters in my mother’s belly and I always knew I’ve always been different somehow not just by being good, bad, odd, lonely or desperate I’m different spiritually that every night in my dreams that I long for the waters of the ocean and the ocean is a second home away from my own home wether it’s in a pool, hot tub, shower, and even the ocean itself I always hear it call my name when I sleep at night. Not cause of the sake of dreaming or dreaming better just dreaming to feel part of something bigger then my own emotions and feelings I know people are either going to disagree with my opinions or agree with them I don’t care either way. All that matters is when we mess with the ocean it will mess with you and if you treat the waves right they will treat you right everything is a two way street not a one way street. Thank You.

Fun fact. After King Laomedon of Troy refused to pay Poseidon his dues for furnishing the walls of his city, Poseidon sent a sea monster to terrorize the Trojans. This was when Hercules came by and offered to slay the monster in exchange for a reward. Hercules did his part but just like with Poseidon Laomedon reneged on his part of the bargain which prompted an enraged Hercules to sack Troy with a group of friends. They killed Laomedon along with several of his sons but left his surviving son Priam who succeeded him as king of Troy. Priam of course was the king who presided over the Trojan War that happens decades later.

A joke that my wife and I make is that the reason Poseidon partook in the rebellion is because in pre-Greco myth, he was originally the king of the gods before people began worshiping Zeus (the sky) as king and Poseidon got downsized. Maybe Poseidon's wife could not punish Poseidon lovers because she herself although a Queen is not a powerful deity like Hera. She's a nereid ( sea nymph) while Hera is a very powerful Goddess and can do everything she wishes. Anyway, there was a story where she punished Scylla as one of her husband's lovers and turned her into a dreadful monster.

She is the granddaughter of the primordial sea; I'm sure she could punish random humans and nymphs if she wanted to. Seeing as her only act of supposed jealousy is much more often attributed to Kirke and that she was so accommodating and kind to Theseus, even helping him prove that he was the son of Poseidon, I think it's fair to assume she cared little (if at all) about Poseidon's dalliances.

Oceanus is the Titan of the Seas, a son of Gaea along with Nereus. Both are old sea deities even before Poseidon came along. There are a lot of sea deities in fact, like Phorcys. And they all seem to respect their own territories. Poseidon however may have gained greater power and larger territory during the reign of the gods when they were feared and worshipped by ancient Greeks.
