We got off the Eurotunnel train in Calais France and started the long journey south making a few stops along the route. Our first park up was a beautiful French Aire and our second destination exceeded all expectations at Château de l'Epervière.

I’m supposed to be watching the highlights but I’m enjoying the full experience 😂. Now you’re settled in France I’m opening my wine, it’s sparkly but from Treviso in Italy. I stayed at that Aire for.a few nights back in (I think) 2009 when I was doing a travel piece/motorhome test for Which Motorcaravan (as it was called then) magazine. Lovely spot. Great video, too. 🙂

Hi, great video, the aire is handy with the loos, nice scenery as you travel , you were lucky with the aire by the river, it looks nice and warm and very peaceful, lovely campsite, you will all be wanting a good rest after all the driving x

It was a very long first 2 two days of driving but we didn’t take the fastest route all of the time. We wanted to stop and see some of the local places so made a few detours from the motorways. This pushes up travel time but does make the journey more interesting 😃 This campsite is beautiful and really made our rest day enjoyable with everything we needed around us. Hi Terry, Sophie’s weight is fine. We had both of them stripped the week before we came out to France so they kept cooler. Sophie’s coat was overdue because of her illness, so it was very thick hence she looks smaller now. We have been worried about a little cyst that has appeared on the site of the removed eye which we will be watching closely and if necessary we will seek veterinary intervention. We are deeply saddened by the death of the Queen but know that at 96 years and having served all her life she could not have done more. Great video, how many speed cameras have you gone through so far , we done around trip of approximately 1800 miles and went through about 200 speed cameras got flashed 3 times so be careful, thanks pete

Love your latest Adventure Guys. Could you tell me which Sat Nav you use. I have a 2020 Ducato which has a fitted Navteq which I find confusing and unreliable , I am going to France and Switzerland and I’m in my late 70s so need all the reliable help I can get.

We have a 2017 Ducato and the Sat-nav isn’t ‘Motorhome specific’ i.e. it doesn’t take into account MH measurements and weight. We’ve recently returned from a 2,000mile trip in France and used Co-pilot app on our iPhone which does take into account size of MH - we compared that with the MH Sat Nav during the trip and found it was much better. Being used on an iPhone it is a bit smaller but save’s buying a dedicated Sat Nav.

Agree with Allan. We have the Caravan and Motorhome Club Garmin system which is great in the UK but is not so special in Europe so we are taking some extra guidance from Google Maps. 🚐 Trev
