Ah, loved the idea of looking on there social media to find one or two questions to ask them. If I'm not feeling connected to my client then I get stuck on what to ask them. Or if they are shyer than me. Also make couples do silly things like “Ring around the Rosies.” I do that for kids, but never thought for adults especially couples that can be so serious and not laugh.

This is awesome! Thank you so much! I recently shot a wedding where the groom was a bit awkward. The best poses I got from him was when he wasn't looking at me, or he did not know I was there. I tried to get him into poses, but he looked so uncomfortable in the pictures. What would you recommend if I encounter this in the future?

A lot of movement shots!! Make them do something a bit silly and talk non stop! :)

hi! Always follow the talking suggestion and occasionally showing the back of the camera. I had a recent awkward family. 3 generations. They did not want to go outside-too hot and humid. They didn’t want to sit on the floor (the younger ones that is. I didn’t even ask the older ones to sit on the floor.) photo session took place at the home of the elder grandparents. First time this happened. Date could not be changed. Any suggestions? And in a break from the rain I did manage to get the 4 teens outside but only very very briefly.

Sometimes we run into things like this and just have to realize they are not our ideal client and hopefully we only get that once in a blue moon.
