it really doesn’t. you can build your own “vai” presets using stock amps and effects. it’s really just cosmetics, a braided cord, mandela grill, and the “exclusive” presets that you can recreate without investing. honestly this color “tolex” is the only thing you couldn’t get otherwise… you can buy custom grills afaik, and you could certainly find a comparable 1/4” cable…

You’d think that he would insist on a Legacy sim, considering that’s the only amp (or preamp when he uses the synergy unit) he uses these days. I suppose the BE 101 ixx so supposed to be a carvin be 100, so maybe he’ll use that, but it’s not really like the legacy amps. You can get the legacy pedal for $300 that is supposed to match the preamp circuit exactly… I think someday I’ll buy one!
