I watched The Reef in March too! I actually did like it more than you did but the biggest aspect I praise the movie for is not using a CGI shark but instead real shark footage. I also like that the sharks behavior wasn’t outlandish and I felt like the movie had a good amount of suspense (I like swimming in the water sometimes at the beach so I definitely felt the dread during those POV shots). The Blackcoats daughter is really good but sooo haunting😳

I quite enjoyed Downsizing. It was unique and quirky. I gave it a 3.5. Saw 3 is my favorite especially with the editing. I have also watched three of your recommendations in April. Here was my March 2021 List and my Letterboxd ratings. 1) I Care A Lot - 3 2) Shriek of the Mutilated - 1.5 3) Dead & Buried - 3.5 4) You're Next - 3 5) Ju-on: The Grudge - 4.5 - This is the original Japanese version and just wow. 6) C.H.U.D. - 3 7) The Stuff - 3.5 - Utterly ridiculous take on consumerism. 8) Death Ship - 3.5 - Better than you would think. 9) Ghostkeeper - 2 - Great setup. Disappointing playout. 10) 1BR - 3 - The nails. Arrgghg. 11) Terror Train - 3.5 Classic slasher film. 12) Freaks (2018) - 4 - Mix of Sci-Fi and Horror. Surprise gem for me. 13) The Smurfs - 3 14) Chaos Walking - 3.5 - Three Books crammed into one movie. 15) Island of the Fishermen- 3.5 16) Willow Creek - 2.5 17) Into The Woods ( Not the musical.) - 1, Dreadful 18) The Paramedic- 2.5 - Decent thriller. 19) Hit and Run - (2009) - 2 20) Zack Synder's Justice League - 4 - Get your Geek on. 21) The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue - 2.5 - Very English. 22) The Black Belly of the Tarantula - 3 - Early 70's horror. I thought the killer was obvious. 23) Savage Weekend - 2 24) The Alien Dead - 1 - Buster Crabbe's last film. Noooo. 25) The Company of Wolves- 4 Quite a creative Anthology horror flick. Keep up the great work. Peace.

And here I thought I was the only one who enjoyed Downsizing (2017). I really liked that movie and I'm glad to hear that you did as well because that must mean that I have good cinematic tastes. PS - also a Matt Damon fan. Good call there!

The OA is the best show I’ve ever watched! I tell everyone about it! The first 2 episodes can be a bit confusing but it’s so worth it!

Really??? I am honestly amazed by how many people in the comments like it. My guess it that it must get a whole lot better past the first season. Personally, I found the first season so bad that I tricked my brother into watching it so I could have someone to complain about it to.

If you love Britt Marling, make sure you check out "I Origins". Same director, Mike Cahill.

The dystopian and apocalyptic genres are by far my favorite. You should create a ranking or list of your favorites that fit into that genre! If anyone has suggestions, let me know!

I really love Hell Fest! Have you watched the new The Craft? I did not have really any expectations but still.. 🤐 The original is just so good!

I re-watched "The Changling" the other night. I mean the original w/George C. Scott. I didn't remember it being that good. The hairs in the back og my neck stood up. If you've not seen or even if you have give it a watch. I also recommend the Severin blu ray fantastic picture and extras..

Would love to know what you think of Willy's Wonderland. It wasn't what I expected going in but once I took it for what it was it was so fun, Nicholas Cage in a 80's style campy horror that's a complete Five Nights At Freddie's rip off? Yes, please!

Do you watch James Gunn movies? Or Polanski, Weinstein, etc. I am curious how consistent you are with your virtue signals

Yes Another Earth is great. Brit Marling had a string of great introspective movies such as Sound of My Voice and The East. The OA is good too

Oddly enough, we both watched the reef, it’s pretty good, more of a psychological horror for people who have issues with sharks and the ocean, like me 😬 my nightmares have yet to forgive me

I've never heard of Rent-a-pal. Gonna check that out. Also kinda put me in the mood to marathon Saw - most of them I haven't watched in years.
