Ethan knows how to handle her. She starts to over think and over explain and he switches the conversation to distract her so she can redirect her focus, and I think that is very thoughtful of him to help change her mental state.

I think it's both but I definitely think he's a VERY valuable friend for her to have in her life & I hope she realizes that & comes back & tries to make amends. If she's hell bent on dying young, she at least needs to break her unhealthy cycles before that time comes.

She thinks the worst of everyone’s reaction, intention and gives EVERY simple text the worst tone behind it! No wonder she says everyone hates her and everyone is out to break into her place lol 😳 ... I think Ethan must have to mentally prepare to take in the avalanche of her talking 😂 before he spaces out anyway

I think Ethan is so wonderful with Trisha, people think she's a joke but I actually think she has had so much trauma as a human being a lot of people cannot be empathetic and it can be overwhelming. And I think Ethan doesn't see Trisha as a joke and is a very caring and thoughtful person, and because Trisha is actually smart and very interesting, she leans into a very wonderful open side of herself when they are together. This is all theory and outside judgement but I'm happy to see someone listen to Trisha and actually hear her.

I think it’s hard for people to feel sorry for her sense she’s purposely offensive a lot. She knows when she says or does something that will hurt or offend others. I know there are a small amount of times in which she doesn’t realize what she’s doing but a majority of time she does. She’s also very hypocritical in life and so I think it’s more of people calling her out so she can be held accountable.

Gotta say, I like how Ethan listens, validates and calls her out when needed, as a proper friend should. When he noticed how she was getting riled up in negativity, he switched gears and asked her about what has been making her happy lately. For Trisha, although sometimes goes back and forth and can be toxic, I like that she can laugh about herself, she does try to build people up, compliments Ethan and lets people know when she appreciates things. I feel like they both bring very interesting things to the table. Such interesting chemistry, very much like siblings lol

Frfr, I was waiting for someone to point that out. It def caught me off guard, and I didn’t even know how to feel when the dead air arrived for a few seconds. After it passed I was like, “was that awkward... or was that a genuinely wholesome moment?” Either way, it was weirdly nice to see Ethan break off the hectic convo so abruptly to redirect Trish’s energy.

Anna Maria Maria made me realize a few things: he tirelessly tries to make her look bad by asking difficult questions, when Trisha makes counterpoint/ jab Ethan panics and changed the subject, Ethan constantly makes rude comments and bad energy about positive things Trisha tries to talk about, and the last episode Ethan literally asked Dan off camera to only laugh at HIS jokes. I’ve just noticed that Ethan receives constant praise for how he ‘handles’ Trisha, and I think for all her flaws he has a some too, but his are more subtle and aren’t brought up as much. I can identify his flaws and still like him, same with Trisha. I’m fully aware of the ‘conversation’ that took place, but this moment I chose to comment on was something I found ironic about Ethan’s behaviour, and I chose to summarise it as such.
