@DanielMaude Thank you! That is hands down the best sand lesson I have EVER received! Wow, so effortless! I cannot think of a time in sand when I didnt feel like I was swinging out of my shoes thinking I had to kill it to get the ball out. That 1 hand shot was better than your others haha. Question, what about a fairway bunker? Correct me if I am wrong but we hit out of said bunker with whatever iron we would use for distance in what ever location correct? Do we strike that ball the same as if it were very compact sand when it comes to fairway bunkers? Thanks again for all of your videos! You sir, are the lesson king IMO! Cheers Jmoe from Dayton, OH

As expected this really helps but what is the best way to control distance? Club choice works to some degree. Using one club I tried a number of things. Speed of swing, length of backswing and even length of follow through. Interestingly the last one seems to be the best but I’m not sure this is right, kind of like for short ones the club ends close to body like a chip, medium further out like a pitch and long ones in more like a full swing finish but all starting from a 3/4 backswing to get that momentum you talk about.

Super explanation Danny, I would have played the last shot backwards (and probably still left it in the bunker). Something that really helped me was to make sure that the shaft was tilted more towards my trail leg. I had a habit of opening the face and pushing my hands forward leading to some shanks especially off wet compact sand.
