The Flume Trail is very easy to ride except for it's occasionally un-nerving bench-cut into the very steep hillside and the exposure may be too much for new riders. But otherwise, the trail surface is very smooth and even and the views along the entire length of the trail of Lake Tahoe below are outstanding. You could ride this trail as an "out-and-back" along the trail and stop at the southern end at Marlette Lake for a refreshing swim half way through your ride!
