crystal beam was always my go to skill. it makes the boss fights so much easier because you can fully focus on dodging.

I haven't played with the Desperate Measures on level 4 yet, so I was fuckin SHOOK when Hades popped out a phase 3. That surprised me more than the beam damage ngl

It's honestly a really gnarly fight. I actually skipped another part of EM4, which is the Cerberus summon, like how Zag can summon Bouldy or Meg with the companions. If you do enough damage, you can simply end phase 2 before Hades gets a chance to trigger the summon.

I almost got this build myself. Even had Cast fists (Talos) equipped. But because I was doing heat 32, Approval Process denied me Crystal Clarity (the reason why Crystal Beams are so OP in here) and Bad News (+50% dmg if enemy has no cast in them). Was surprised that I actually made it.

That's why I don't ever do approval process unless I'm going for boonless. It's already a dice roll, getting all these broken builds to begin with, getting blocked further makes it waaaay worse.

@@ByrneBaby Just double checked records since it was over a year ago and I had heat 32 on almost all Aspects. Turns that I didn't get Fully Loaded as well. That makes it even more frustrating.

@@dontevenbruh I don't do vids. I also never took screenshots of my playthroughs. The only reason I was able to check was because I posted this story on reddit. I haven't touched Hades for over a year now and I uninstalled it long ago. Waiting for Hades 2 and a few other games. Sorry about that.

Boon knowledge and a lot of luck. You choose your build before the run even starts and focus all your effort into getting and then buffing that build. The god keepsakes really help with this. I was personally going for a high level Glacial Glare, but kept getting the Beam itself on pom pickups. You can also keep your build "focused" by choosing non-boon rooms to keep your odds of pomming the boons you want high. The less boons, the better. I watched Haelian a bunch to get good at Hades, he's a speedrunner and drops tips a lot.

@@mythcat1273 Chaos! They have +1 cast as a reward option, and I also had the Artemis Legendary Boon, which gives +2. I normally aim for 4 total, since Achilles' cast buff can only affect 4 at a time, but got lucky with two Chaos cast boons.

@@thegrayjedi87 You see the 1 beneath the summon item in the top left corner? That's how many uses you have for it during a run. Make sure that there's at least one use left before you reach Hades, and you can use it... UNLESS you haven't reached a certain point in the story, in which case the other members of the house can't get involved in the fight. I might be wrong about that second part, like that's just me speculating, but it makes sense. Hope that helps!

I have the worst luck whenever i try to do a cast build especially with Achilles. First time i tried i didn't get the duo boon nor glacial glare , 2nd time i got aphro duo but again no glacial glare and a single fking cast ! 3rd time i got both boons i wanted but no extra casts from chaos or well 😭

@@keerthan7558 If you want to up your chances, do this: - Never take Aphro with Beams, only with Hunting Blades. My fave god combo for beams is Artemis/Demeter/Poseidon/Dionysus. You can do Athena or Ares over Dio, but Dio works best with Privileged Status, plus his duos synergize the best with the rest. Ares synergizes the second best because his duos don't interfere with your beam build at all. - Check every well for one of the Chaos summons and extra casts, and run the mirror option for Duos and Legendaries to make getting Artemis' legendary easier, if you aren't already - If you don't take any call, run the Hades sigil after getting all the gods you want to increase your chances of finding non-core boons, plus it buffs damage by 100% at max usage - You can alternatively use the bone hourglass and try to find extra casts throughout your run if you choose a regular call - This one isn't about the cast part of the build, but for hammers, you always want flurry jab, and then if not that, just take whatever special ones you find to make runs easier. If you get flurry jab, get the extender or triple jab next. - Save your rolls for whatever's most important! If you got beams, roll for glare, if you have glare, roll for duos, but if you find duos first, take them and roll for whatever later. And I think that's it! Happy beaming :P

Welp ye i'm aware of these , appreciate it though 💜.it's just unfortunate circumstances and bad luck in those runs.I was basically forced into taking aphro core boons and ye no luck with extra casts in chaos. I'm gonna avoid aphro at all costs next time for sure.i'm pretty careful with rolls, i roll hard only for core parts of my build.

Is the weapon you choose even relevant at this point? I can't even tell which one you have! I am starting the games (already have several hours though) but I want to try this build. I usually never play with crystal but you changed my mind! I just need to check the perks you have in french because I don't know the names in english!

@@MythicMurdoc It's very relevant! It's the reason why the build is so strong in the first place. I'm using the Aspect of Achilles, and it gives you a 150% boost to cast and attack damage for four uses when you use the special and dash to it. The first four casts I drop have a huge damage buff after I dash to the special toss, and it's one of the most powerful aspects in the game because of this. From a balancing perspective, 150% is way too high, and it's the go-to aspect for cast builds as a result, with Poseidon and Talos in second and third place.

@@Bababababat Thanks, crazy that I remind you of such a big 'tuber. I'll def get into shorts later down the road with other content, these Hades vids were silly little things for fun. The hunting blades vid I uploaded was the "last" one, and I want to switch gears with other stuff once I have a good chance to get back into the game.
