Thanks for the great demonstration. I just installed the Dave Ellefson signature pickups in my Epiphone Flying V which are a huge improvement over the stock pickups. I've been thinking that the BQS system might be the next step to get a really great sound out of this bass and this really makes me want to do it next.

I have the BQS system installed with the 40DCX and CSX. Sounds great, but I highly recommend running it with 18v instead of 9v. When I push the EQ I get some distortion that seems to flatten out the tone.

Love me some emgs. I have a DC in the bridge and a reverse coil P in my neck of my Ibby SR885 with the BTS system. I didnt want to mess with the mids of the bqs as I am a simple man. Sounds great though.

What a lot of people don't get is that the x-series version of this preamp which only differs by the blend pot value allows you to use passive pickups.

by "X" you mean "HZ", as in the "BQS System HZ" which supports use with passive pickups like you say.

I have yet to find any preamp that’s as versatile as the Noll TCM 3P which allows the player to choose what frequency they’re boosting or cutting by for bass (40Hz-180Hz), mids (250Hz-1,5KHz) and treble (1,8KHz-7,8KHz).

3-band EMG preamp, usually a solderless installation (unless your bass has a barrel output jack). It comes with controls for treble boost and cut, bass boost and cut, and a midrange boost and cut with a concentrically-stacked midrange sweep control. It also comes with a balance control. The “BQS” system comes with a 5-knob/pot control layout whereas the “BQC” system comes with a 4-knob/pot layout but has the bass and treble concentrically-stacked to save space.
