As people have already pointed out, this band is from Taiwan. The album this song is from tells the story of Taiwanese aboriginals who were drafted into the Japanese army during ww2. Lot of the were trained as kamikaze pilots which is what this song specifically is referring to. The spoken part you can hear at the end is actually the recording of the speech by Emperor Hirohito announcing Japan's surrender. Fun fact, the vocalist Freddy Lim is a member of parliament. He was first elected in 2016 and re-elected earlier this year.

hey there, how nice to see you reacting to Chthonic. this band is actually from taiwan, and many of their songs have the theme to promote and to rectify the independance of Taiwan. The content of the lyric tells a story during WW2, when taiwan was colonoized by Japan. Young indigenous, a group who were formly persecuted by the japaneses, were trained and later joined in the army of kamikaze, died in the battlefield finding pride and self-respect. the traditional instruments used are koto(Japanese)and erhu(chinese). Hope to see you reacting more to this band and to explore their backgrounds and political views.

Holy crap dude!! I totally missed this reaction!! Fantastic as always. The instrument played with a bow is an erhu, my Chinese wife plays one. The other instrument the keyboard was imitating is a pipa.
