Some years we have lows of 16-18F then it would be pretty nice. -6F was a tough save.

You make me so tempted, I wonder how the Trachycarpus wagnerianus would do here, especially the hybrid between it and the Bulgaria cultivar. We didn’t get that cold this winter, only down to about 1F a couple of nights
@tntropics8 ай бұрын
You would need to protect them under 12F for adults or under 21F for little ones for best results

Had two Unprotected windmills Survive -5°F in this freeze. And the other one is likely dead. The rest of my Dozens of windmills got protected either by snow or with protection I gave them and survived.

I was looking at the temperatures in Tennessee and it's sort of surprising you got so cold there; up in the Midatlantic/northeast I think our lowest was 7-9F or so. Looks like 2-5 inches of rain coming for Tennessee, but warmer, warmer than us in the northeast.

Always worked well except last year with 30mph winds and -1F that blew away the heat too much.

Im very lucky i live in the south east corner of North Carolina ( about 1 hr 30 minutes from Myrtle beach South Carolina) so all of my palms thrive in my climate and dont have to wrap anything. We dont get super cold temps and it only snows maybe once every 4 to 5 years.

Yep that's a awesome place for palms for sure! Thanks for watching!

@@CCLewis249 Christiana, TN? Come by sometime. Anyway those palms were small to get these temps. I would squirt 1/4th a bottle of Hydrogen peroxide into each spear area now and after this rain and treat spear area once per week after that with copper fungicide until you see the new spear growing. As far as fronds they won't recover. If they have any green on them resist cutting them. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qquZoXiwr5Z3ocU kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIaWkqCtnqxoi5o kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXbahmd8Yqyiqtk
