My son lives in Asheville. He and his wife were able to get out and are spending the week in Charleston. They had no power or water at their house when they left. Kelly, Don’t worry about your content being different. I appreciate you sharing with us. I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience with Helene. But Praise God, you all are ok. We are in Eastern NC and went through Hurricane Fran in 1996. We own a manufactured home also. Ours is on concrete footings and my husband bricked it. However, with 100 mph winds that night, I was worried. Myself, my husband and daughter hunkered down in our den; there wasn’t much sleep to be had that night. My husband walked the house looking out the windows all night long. Thankfully, we made it through with only yard debris which was amazing. Many went without power for over a week. We are close to the hospital so luckily ours was only out for a few days. Prayers for all of you. 🦋🫶🙏

Hi Kelly, I am a quiet person on your page. But I lived in a mobile home for 18 years in PA. I hated storms my place was tied down but it still rocked and rolled and could be very scary. I couldn’t imagine going through a hurricane.I am so glad you and your family are safe. I now live in SC. We had a lot of flooding and some power outages. But are area didn’t get hit as bad as the destruction in NC. My heart goes out to them.🦋🦋🙏

We are on the gulf coast of Florida, 1/2 mile from the gulf. We are in the flight path of the airport & the winds sounded as if a commercial plane was flying over the house. I too was up all night. I do have family in Cedar Key & South Carolina. Born & raised in the Tampa area & I’m always relieved when hurricane season is over. Oh Kelley, it’s so good to see your smiling face. I have been concerned about how you did through the storm. I live in Western NC, about 90 minutes from Asheville. So much devastation. We did well. Had 4 trees come down on our drive to the house, and the main highway we live off had an area of the road that collapsed going one way, and the other way down the mountain had power lines down across the road. We lost power, but it did come back on about 10 hours after it went off. We were very blessed. I prayed so much, & my hubby & I stayed up until 6am, then went to bed. Something woke me up at 7 & I looked out & the trees were just spinning in circles. I covered my head and went back to sleep. Where we live the eye of the storm went right over us! Crazy crazy weather. Oh it was a Cat 1 when it passed over us. I just live right over the Georgia line. I am so grateful that you are all good. My power went out very early last Friday morning and finally came back on last not around 10. It was wonderful and trust me, I was thanking God for it and I'm so grateful to all the guys that working around the clock trying to restore power to everyone. The only thing I lost was having to throw all the food away in the fridge and freezer. That is nothing compared to what so many have lost and my heart goes out to them. I think this storm has taught us all a lot. I hope Corey is feeling better. 🦋🦋

Where I live we have tornados. They do sound like a train and it's scary. The winds are horrible but nothing like hurricanes my brother gets in Florida. Praying for ya'll.
