I love this style! This the style I started playing many moons ago in the early 90s. I basically learned it by ear and by accident. I was a huge Cure head back then :) I have a request, a video on the bouncy high string riffage of The Smiths. Thanks for your consideration. Cheers!

@@elite6848 probably best to download the Katana software so you can really tweak the effects. Generally you'll need some Chorus, Delay and Reverb. Stratocasters are very good for this sound since they have single coil pickups. You don't want a washed out sound. Just enough to add atmosphere.

Он нарочно струны еле зажимает, чтобы звук на них тут же затухал? Если нужно в другой тональности играть, придётся использовать каподастр? Тогда нужно будет перенести квинту на другую струну и играть уже не соседние струны, а пропуская одну…

Post Punk is after punk (70s) was starting to get main stream and commericalized so in attempt to break free from that punk bands started to reform and get more experimental and bleak.

It’s basically punk but with the influence of progressive rock instead of shunning complexity, they use it whether it be in the instruments or the lyrics. Listen to Joy Division’s transmission, quite simple and straight forward but with lots of electronic wizardry that wasn’t really used in pop music until the mid eighties. Now everyone uses digital reverb and delay.
