I remember around a week or two ago when news came that the US military snuck out of Bahram airbase before the official transfer to the Afghani national forces and they took as much equipment with them. That should of told everyone that the USA has officially abandoned Afghanistan and those soldiers knew that their would be no support. Couple that with the 50k+ losses that they already suffered and the border regions falling, yeah I don't blame the last bastions for surrendering in the way they did.
