How do I choose a good brace on Amazon now that my inflammation has calmed down and the acute phase is over? (Thank you)
@johncarnes51826 жыл бұрын
Dr. Young, How do you know when the acute phase is over? I'm not in pain, but without the boot if feels like I'm pronating and stretching it such that I feel 'internal soreness'. I'm wearing over the counter orthodics, maybe they aren't doing the job or do I need to stick with the boot.

I just stepped in a hole while power walking..I kept pushing did my power walking for 6 miles once I stopped I iced and thought it will be better in the morning.I iced for the next week my ankle inside and outside twice its size and severe pain on inside arch..I hopped for another week thinking it get better..it didn't 3rd week I went to my podiatrist he said tibial tendon blah blah the outside heel ankle black and blue and very swollen mri ordered I was put in a soft cast with this stuff in it to bring down swelling.i was to not remove it for 5 days .I had oral steroids for a week.. I was to return last week keep a boot on and start trying to get back into orthotics but had a nasty fall didn't reinjure the foot but didn't go for follow up... still can't squat down or push back up on my toes ..I have cursed my tendon out today a few times..I think it maybe trying to give me the cold shoulder now...I still have swelling about inner and outer ankle ...strange

@@toddlemoine5810 yes pretty much it's fine. I started using custom orthotics and NB 990V5 as stabilization shoe which is on the entire time I am not sleeping. Just did a 6 mile hike yesterday without any sign of pain. Will start running now. It also helps to work on anxiety and inflammation by some mental exercises, positive affirmations etc. This is all worked perfectly with me. Wish you all the best with recovery.

Hello man how s your foot?, it’s been 5.5 weeks since my grade 2 sprain, last 2 weeks I ve been working on my range of motions by light exercises and the range is 85%, I also started walking in a brace recently but I feel pain on the inside of the foot, although I twisted my leg outwards. My question is - wtf is this? Why it hurts on the inside if it’s not there the injury was? Can it be just the fact that my ligaments lost their “mobility” in my 1 month of resting and now that I walk, I just “overwork” them? Like they are not in shape and that’s why it hurts. What should I do? Just continue walking and it will go always by itself? Since by all predictions I should be fine after that time, my x-ray is clean. I’m 19((

I can no longer walk even 10 meters, nor can I stand after the VA did gastrocnemius recession on me. I originally went for a bunionectomy and they did this to me without my approval. Now I can’t walk because the arch collapse and causes leg length discrepancy. This is a horrible surges d what’s worse is I did not go there for that. Their excuse was that my calves was tight.

Orthotics are NOT the answer. The answer is build muscle in your feet, ankle and legs. Typical American doctor. Puts newspaper over puke instead of just cleaning up the puke.
