This is Jula! She’s a phenomenal follow with so much creativity and power-I love dancing with her, and this dance certainly did not disappoint. I’ll be posting soon alongside the rest of my JnJ prelims for DCSX. Any topics you’d like to hear about when I post them? :)

Of course! For now the best way is to find some local classes or go to an event with a Newcomer track! Working on getting some online material out though :)

You’ve truly inspired me to start learning West Coast Swing! I’ve signed up (together with my partner) for a beginner’s class in my city that starts in January, and I’m so excited. I was wondering, how long have you been dancing? Also, how long do you think it takes to become good at improvising in WCS? I’d love to hear your thoughts and are looking forward to the progress of learning this beautiful dance! :)

Woohoo that’s awesome! I’ve been doing west coast swing for a little over 5 years (with an obsessive amount of practice). It is admittedly one of the most difficult partner dancer to learn, so it will be a very fun challenge for you! It often takes a couple months to get comfy with the basics, but it’s extremely rewarding :)

I immediately went "hang on- is that Jula?" - She's from my hometown and, as the first german ever to reach champion level, one of the better-known dancers in the area ;)
