"Don't Know How to Love You" and "Lay it Down" are a couple of her best originals. But, she has a bunch.

I agree. The New Orleans dirge style is perfect for the song Seven Nation Army. Some people feel like that adaptation of Creep doesn’t fit the mood of the lyrics and I can understand that reaction. I could argue that it expresses even more destress about the given situation. I can also see the merit in the more intimate and introspective covers. That’s the beauty of art. There is room for multiple perspectives. I think most people are reacting to the range of tools Haley displays in her performance of the PMJ arrangement of Creep and the appropriateness of her choices, again, within the given arrangement. Great reaction. Keep going down the PMJ and Haley Reinhart rabbit holes. Speaking of which, she covers White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.

IMO Haley is the best singer working today. Jessica Rabbit meets Betty Boop I think the issue you had with Creep was not necessarily Haley...it was that you had an already established relationship with the song, and her take on it was wildly different, and frankly, almost mocking it. Mocking isn't the right word, but it made light of the message the original was trying to impart. I love it, but I'm old, and could care less about the original, so for me it was just a master class in vocal skills set to a familiar song. And I suspect that to be the case for a lot of people that love Haley's take. Just a thought, You should do Paulina's (from The Warning) version of "Creep". IMO it's not nearly as impressive a performance, but it's true to the original in spirit and emotion. I think you would like it. And you are not the only reactor that couldn't connect with Haley's version. It seems like everyone that says the original meant a lot to them has a problem with PMJ/Haley's version. I remember you getting shit for your reaction to that, and that's not called for. I'm glad you liked this one. I think the fact that the original is not telling such a serious and emotional tale, and is kinda frivolous in nature, helps from people being put off by the difference.

I'm also old and couldn't care less about both originals of Creep and 7NA but absolutely here for Haley & PMJ's amazing reimagining of both tracks. Also, Brian Justin Crum's offering is def worth a listen, IMO.

While tonally Haley's voice is my favorite, I do have to take issue with her being described as "the best today" if for no other reason than its a subjective observation and opinion. As an example, and they each cover different genres, I give you Floor Jansen as an example. Described as a master of her instrument, its is impossible to say one over the other is best. And not fair either. Both are vocalists, not just singers and I love both of them. Sure I can say Haley is my favorite but that doesn't diminish Floor one iota.

@@bertjones3010 That's what comments sections are for, for each of us to express our subjective opinions. However, I'm not referring to her tone, or ability to hit notes. I'm referring to the objective fact that she is proficient in just about every kind of vocal effect that can be added to the voice.

@@saltydroog854 She is I agree. But so does Floor. Mostly my point was the "best" is subjective, and when used when describing one's favorite singer, it just ends up being superfluous. The fact that you love her voice isn't - that is fact - but best cannot be measured by one's personal tastes. That's all - no argument about the appeal Haley has to my ears, that's for sure.

Thanks God there are still places where you can hear such music LIVE! However, in the last twenty years, many of them have gone (irretrievably?) in my city/country. Roni, I have to see all your skits on "Out & About (Living In Quarantine)" channel. They are just great! 😊 Happy Roni Face is something I always wanna see 😍Hugz! ❤

Really love what these guys do. It's such a great way to interpret modern music, the opposite to what must acts do i.e take a classic song and give it a modern twist.

@@ronireacts_to_all Sorry - I personally think there is no "best" in music - or art, only one's personal tastes - So I wasn't picking on your response in pointing out Creep spot on the catalog. Haley also holds the top four spots in terms of PMJ views. Creep is not my favorite either, though it has grown on me since it gets reacted to the most. 7 Nation Army is also my favorite, but all her submissions are wonderful. There are a number of wonderful videos from them. You might be aware that Scott's style is one camera one take. Here is his ultimate video of that technique. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5_Kiahor9x5b6csi=A3HoytZt68SKHJyz

So irritating,i’m still subbed but yet again the YT Gods in their infinite wisdom see fit to not put your vids into my feed. I thought it a bit odd that you hadn’t popped up for a while so found this as a result of a Roni search! I’m so pleased that listening to Haley perform with Jeff Goldbloom gave you the encouragement to give Haley another listen on PMJ. She’s not only a great performer, with a wonderful natural growl in her vocals, she a truly exceptional vocal technician, in fact she has few peers who match her in this regard. I’d pay very good money to seen her perform with Jeff and tge Snitzer Orchestra for an evening or just Haley if that was all on offer. As for the throw back to the younger you, your haircut now is just so much cooler than it was then, you kinda went from ‘ Little House on The Prarie’ hair style to Coco Chanel in one fell swoop.😊

Great to see and hear your expanding repertoire - makes for great viewing! To add another string may I suggest a Jethro Tull live performance of 'My God' from the Isle of Wight festival of 1970? You will not be disappointed. Thanks for sharing!

You have a great knack for describing instruments that you can't remember the names of. 😄 Slide trombone and double bass in this case by the way. From what I've seen of Postmodern Jukebox on KZbin, they always pick very good singers for whatever the style of the song is. Now I'm going to watch your film noir bit, because the few seconds that you showed here already had me 😂.

PMJ has a unlimited amount of top level vocal talents rotate thru Scott’s project. Try to not focus on only the few guest vocalists that all the other reactors always post. Have a look at Miche Braden and PMJ doing “Purple Rain” dive into their website and explore and enjoy 👍

Yeah I agree 100% about her singing Creep, it just wasn’t right! This one was OK, no reflection on PMJ, I just think she wasn’t the best fit on this - I have heard better. My favourite cover of hers with PMJ is the cover of Don’t Speak by No Doubt; I think you’re gonna like that one!

I was going to suggest that you reacted to a live performance but that would still be the same arrangement. Haley’s in studio PMJ performances are always the best versions. They are what you see, btw, single, unedited takes as I understand it. For her originals and non-PMJ covers I recommend finding a live version. The official videos are quality productions but sometimes they distract from the music performance. The live performances seem to have something extra. “Oh Damn” has a guitar battle that doesn’t exist in the official track.

Loved your reaction; subbed. This is pretty much the perfect torch singer performance. This after show jam of Hit the Road Jack shows another side of her: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYemd5dpZ7CIjNk&ab_channel=HaleySlays You seemed to like Scott on piano, so let me recommend a couple of outstanding vids with him and Morgan James: Sweet Child o' Mine (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWS0g3hqoNCXqMU&ab_channel=PasteMagazine) and Take Me to Church (kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3STqXp4bJiIq8U&ab_channel=PostmodernJukebox). And just for grins, check out Floor Jansen covering Heart's Alone, with only a piano accompanying: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5fYXqyGa9Zpfc0&ab_channel=FloorJansen Full disclosure: I think Haley, Morgan, and Floor are the three best female vocalists on the planet, so my recommendations may be biased 😁.
