In this video we will see how to make Potato fry in Tamil. Potato Poriyal / Urulai Kizhangu Varuval in an excellent poriyal / kootu recipe for rice. The urulai kizhangu (potatoes) are well seasoned and taste amazing. The exterior of the potatoes are a caramelized by prolonged low heat and creates that wonderful texture. This is a quick and easy recipe for packing the lunch box and I make this recipe when I need to prepare a meal quickly. It makes an excellent combination with all variety rice recipes including curd rice and lemon rice.

Hi! Thanks for such brilliant recipes! I use Madras Samayal as a singular point of reference to try out stuff & it always comes out well. You always give us the quantity measurements (1 tsp etc) which is very useful. I'd really appreciate if you started mentioning the time measurements in your videos too (Eg: For the Potatoes to be half cooked, what's the approximate time it takes?) and also the gas flame level ( low, med or High).
