Ok guys, now Joel has his own channel, why can’t we have a Grammy channel? What if Lauren and Cali had a camera. Grammy wouldn’t have to host. She would just answer questions. Why do you cut this fruit differently from the others, how do you know how much sugar to add, what is your favorite veggie to cook, how long should this simmer? How do you meal plan? How many days in advance do you menu plan, how many people do you make lunch for, how do you know how much meat you will need. Where do you order your jars and lids from? Cooking with Grammy. In grammy’s kitchen. Grammy’s Farm Kitchen. I am sure you could come up with a snappy name. A video a week would be a treasure worth looking forward to.

Good to see a family happily working together, loving their work. I am from south-west England, and when I was a boy, raised on my family's estate, there were unspoiled ( by modernity ) farmhouses several hundred years old, with huge kitchens with stone-flagged floors, and a long table with chairs and benches, and sometimes a settle, to sit on. ...... The family and their farmworkers would sit and eat together, and it was a real social occasion. Now modern farms often have only one man, there is no social activity, and mental illness is a very real problem.

I feel your back and leg pain, as a girl I'd go strawberry picking, 8 hours bent over...being 14yrs old meant it wasn't so bad at the time, being 54 now I know it was hard work and my body is paying for it lol. But it was fun, we did it as a family, a tent somewhere on the farmers land, we'd be there for two weeks during the summer break (UK). That was our family holiday, and I loved the freedom. Helping to feed the animals, swimming in the pond (which in hindsight was usually disgusting lol) We didn't care though, it was just freeing. I think that's why I love to watch your family now, good memories.

My mom would ask the farmer who had corn growing around our house if she could take a few stalks to put up for decoration. He was always very sweet and let us. I think it actually comes from a European tradition of decorating with the last bundle of wheat or whatever grain they grew they harvested to signal the end of the growing season.
