Have you made this instant pot potato soup, yet? Did you change it up or tried it just like this? Let me know what you think! Debra 😀

The Last Minute Cook I really like how you kept the bacon grease in the soup plus keeping the potatoes whole then mash them in the end to thicken the soup. I’m fixing some later today.

Just made 2/3 recipe with 3 potatoes. Delicious!!!. One little problem: I noticed a little curdling. Maybe I added the sour cream when mixture was too hot. what do you think?

Just made it for the 3rd time, I'm hooked. Need a better potato peeler now.

Oh my gosh! I just discovered your channel and I absolutely love it. Just got my instant pot, and have already made two of your recipes with major success! Thank you for not making them so formal and giving your recipes so much flexibility!! We tried your potato soup recipe today and I love the fact that you don’t include milk because I’m lactose intolerant. A little cheese I can deal with.🤣 It was absolutely delicious!!

Wow Debra!.....that soup is amazing!!!! We are having a snow storm out here today, so I figured a hearty soup would be perfect for a stay inside kind of day. I followed your recipe exactly....except for adding a little bit of farmer sausage together with the bacon. Thanks so much for taking the time to post that! Thumbs up 👍 My wife was amazed when I served up a bowl of this. I am now subscribed to your channel.

I would just dice my potatoes up before I cooked them and reduce the time a little bit. I like some potato chunks not all mashed

Looks like a real winner, wow . What about ham or a little Italian sausage ?
@TheLastMinuteCook6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ed Watson!! That sounds great! Sub any of those for the bacon - if using ham, get the onions cooked down a bit first, then put in the bits of ham. If using the Italian sausage, brown the sausage first just like I do with the uncooked bacon. I think both sound delicious!! Debra :-)

Is there a reason you don’t cut the potatoes first before cooking?
@TheLastMinuteCook4 жыл бұрын
Belinda Everman, you can absolutely cut them before cooking. :-) Debra

I made this for the first time but I should have used bigger potatoes. I also added to much stock in the bacon to start..However in the end it turned out real good...Thanks for posting the ingredients on the side bar..several other videos do not have that and it is an important thing to see so I can stop and write it down..Love my instanpot so much I bought 3 of them. :)

Cutting the potatoes even a little would allow you to cut the cooking time. Dicing the potatoes would allow you to cut cooking time to a few mins. Glad to see you cut the milk products.
@mickyboymick52105 жыл бұрын
What are the benefits of leaving the potatoes whole, rather than chopping them up into smaller pieces? As you said, it would cut down the cooking time.
@TheLastMinuteCook5 жыл бұрын
You got it, Mickiboy Mick. Smaller potatoes will cook faster.
@mickyboymick52105 жыл бұрын
The point I was trying to make was why do you prefer to use whole potatoes rather than the smaller ones if the smaller ones cook quicker? At the end, the soup is then mashed down?
@lizprymek95445 жыл бұрын
I made this exactly as you did here but the soup is very bland. Almost no flavor. Wonder what I missed?
@TheLastMinuteCook5 жыл бұрын
Hello Liz Prymek, this potato soup has a mild flavor, warm and comforting. you may want to spice it up a bit. Let us know how you like it!
@stormwatch72453 жыл бұрын
Nooooo.... this should be called mashed potato soup. I prefer mine diced BEFORE cooking with some milk or cream cheese to make it more creamy. This is different though, I'd still try it. My son even likes a dollop of sour cream on top.

Can you use chicken bone broth or does it have to be stock?
@TheLastMinuteCook4 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you went ahead and tried it with your broth - sorry for the delay!
@Lyrakill4 жыл бұрын
Trying this tonight I’ll give you feedback later
@Lyrakill4 жыл бұрын
It’s not bad but I had chicken bone in broth and it gave it a richer flavor that tastes less potatoey I definitely loved the recipe I think I’ll add some bacon crumbles to it tomorrow after it’s thickened up.
@TheLastMinuteCook4 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you liked it, Renee DaSinger! Thank you for the feedback! Bacon crumbles would be awesome.
