It’s unfortunate that it’s clear the late game hasn’t been tested very well. The pollution effects are incredibly punishing, which means it’s best to really stay away from it entirely, and yesterday I played a game where there was only 2 oil on the entire map, you need 3 to launch the Mars colony, so I had to click end turn a bunch to research every tech instead. Not great, but a really fun game otherwise.

In the late game I like to try and take a few territories and not attach them to cities, rather I spam trees with my leftover influence to help fight the pollution. It works fairly well if you can find a decent island chain, or a 'new world' continent.

But yeah, forests start out with 0 FIMS when you plant them but they grow Industry as time passes (just like actual forests, I managed to end the game with a few of the ones I planted first growing to the “Huge Forest” that I think gives 4 Industry at the start of the game)

You know, it's funny because technically, aluminum and aluminium are both correct spellings. In fact, both of the names were coined by English scientists and because of the cultural divide between England and America, the use of aluminium died out and aluminum became the norm. So, like with Soccer, the Brits made up the name and dumped the blame on us. Big OOF.

The line of sight mechanics on this game are absolutely awful. Its so difficult to stage correctly when you can't know where your los is going to work.
@davidbodor17623 жыл бұрын
Naaah they're not communicated well. Once you realize how they work it's like seeing the Matrix. The game did make it so that if you hover over a tile that you want to move to, it highlights all enemies you can shoot from that location to make these rules a bit easier to interpret. The rules offer a really vast potential for foresight and tactical movement and put importance on the order of actions, bearing in mind you can move all your units and attack with all of them after they all moved if you want. In fact you get +1 strength from being near a friendly unit, so it is incentivized to move melee units first then attack with both. As for line of sight: Basically units and forests block line of sight. Both yours and enemies. Trees are a height of 2, so if you have a really big cliff you can shoot over them, but one level of elevation isn't enough. If you're good at strategy you can move your own units in specific orders to maximize your effectiveness. You can move your archer, shoot with a clear line of sight, then move your swordsmen in front blocking sight and protecting the archer from melee combat and the swordsmen gains the +1 bonus on the attack from being near the archer.
