I hate to sound like I'm backseating, but it's helped my game a LOT to remember Heroes get city-to-city transport, like other Great People. That would have let you keep Himiko on the line a lot longer, then pop over to Debrecen and down to Rapa Nui

Thank you for the amazing video, Potato, you lightened up my Sunday. As a Hungarian, I want to give some tips on how to (sort of) pronounce the names of these cities. My fellow countrymen, feel free to correct these, let's help our lad improve ! #1. PÉCS : try saying peach but with an 'ai' as you would in 'gain' ('Paich'). #2. MISKOLC: Instead of a 'K' at the end, try something like 'ts', and an 'sh' instead of 's' sound, so 'Mishkolts' should work. #3. SZEGED: This depends on regional accents, but don’t to pronounce ’g’ as a ’z’. Google translate says 'Seg Ad' in a close enough way. #4. DEBRECEN: Just pronounce the ’c’ as a short ’ts’ again, and you’re good to go. At 38:23, you almost nailed it. #5. SZÉKESFEHÉRVÁR (probably looks scary): you pronounce it like ’say-cash-fahaervaar’ (make sure to hit all consonants) The way you say BUDA, and EGER are pretty good, imho I also love the new editing style a lot, specially the occasional iguanas. Hi, just wanted to say: I have been playing Civ for ~6 years, maybe more. I started with 4, and continued from there. I’d never entirely gotten a handle on the meta strategies and deliberate thought processes these games required. Even into 6 I struggled, but I still loved to play. Never advancing above warlord. I bought GS, New Frontier, all while still not completely understanding things like amenities, citizenry, how to use policy cards to your enormous advantage, etc. just under a week ago I have been nonstop watching your videos and - my god - there was so much I didn’t know or didn’t even think about while playing Civ. Because of your incredibly helpful and in depth videos (Civ 6 OverExplained especially), I have learned and been able to apply your methods of prioritizing certain victories, build orders, tech orders and importance in certain situations to my games and I have improved immeasurably. You have definitely earned a subscriber, as well as helped me enjoy a game I’ve been dying to understand and get good at for a long time now. Thanks, Potato.

One thing that I think is great in your gameplay is how you use the situation and the circumstances to your advantage. Using Himiko to initiate some kind of blitzkreig against the Inca was super effective and very educational. I'd not really rated Himiko highly but with Hungary she really fits into their civ abilities.

Absolutely loving this new edition, all the "zoom in" when you're talking about techs (for example around minute 2 or so) and showing all this extra information. Maybe it's because I have played a lot of civ and already know what extra yields luxury resources provide, but, I'd rather have a zoom in when you're talking about settling next to the incense or so (or some kind of signal) instead of having the civilopedia page for the resource. All in all, I love all your videos and i specially enjoy these new series with this edition method. Great work!

Not Editor related but I've been really enjoying your content. It has helped immensely with my own gameplay but further to that has help lead to some epiphanic thoughts. I have largely reframed my concept of what it means to exist within society, and the roots of capitalism and a lot of human suffering at the hands of Western Civilization. I have a better idea of how to live my own life just to be happy and able to exist. Not to sound like a super strange weirdo on the internet, but watching some of your content has made me a better person, whether through a concerned effort or inadvertent influence. Thank you. yeah buidl a couple of holy sites on those cities that are just for production of builder and settlers. that will allow you to get youe heroes back.

I'm convinced, selling luxury resources to the computer is the AI is the secret to succeeding at higher difficulties. I hope they expand this in Civ7, adding a 'marketplace' or something where it's more obvious. It's sort of hidden in the leader screen.

Here after watching the Spiffing Brit recommend you. Very interesting! In case no one else mentioned it, if the empire that the military emergency is called against is beaten, the other empires will usually make peace since there's no one left for them to fight for. Something that IMO makes sense. I don't think that if they take a city you did, they would turn it back to Inca to bring them back into the game.

Potato would have been able to get Himiko to the city state much faster if he remembered you can teleport heroes between your cities. He also could have guaranteed a golden age by adopting Monarchy. I guess it doesn't matter as much seeing as he got it anyway.

Funny thing is that in my first game in Civ 6 I was tired of getting forward settled and I kid you not I had zero clue how to deal with walls. So instead I just went on/off war with the opponent for literal era until I eventually got bombards and was able to take his crap. Hilariously enough I was going for a science victory that game

Ollantaytambo can still do a decent district cluster with an okish IZ, aqueduct at the farm tile, IZ next to the stone (keep the stone for extra adjajcencies) for a +4 IZ, later on you can go for harbor (since you can get 2 trade routes from the owls there is really no downside in getting this harbor even when the city already has a commercial hub) and encamptment next to the IZ as well to get it to +5 plus you get extra production from encampment buildings and the shipyard

Civ VII needs an undo button and also a way to direct the city which tile to grow to like you can control which tiles they are working. Sometimes the AI grows to a useless tile when there is a super useful one it ignores.

Ollantaytambo could've been a gold city. +3 harbor and +5 commercial hub, right? The commercial hub is on the river and adjacent the city center and harbor. You have owls of minerva, so with their unique building you'll get a second trade route from that city

Himiko is so OP! Giving +10 combat strength to all units in 2 range. What??? That is like an era difference in power level. Great generals are give +5 to land units and you have to work a lot for it. Build encampment plus barracks/stable plus even projects. Not to mention it gives only for 2 eras. Having 65 combat strength on turn 90 is ridiculous though i know this a pushed mode of course.

You can transfer heroes between cities just like great people. Himiko would be back in the fight much faster that way.
