I agree that contextual highlights are handy. If I were to provide some constructive feedback it would be for you to keep yourself from moving the mouse in circles to draw attention to it, since now your editor is doing that for us. That will keep the tooltip that is now 80% of the screen from moving around, which makes it hard to read and focus on.

A thought on the editing. Zooming in on text is helpful but sometimes could do with little improvements. Notably at around 0:40 there is a zoom in on the science of the city followed by Pingala's promotion. I found the act of zooming in on these a bit distracting as what I'm trying it read is moving during the animation. It wasn't the pleasant viewing experience. An example I like though is the zoomed in civic tree at around 1:20. Allows the text to be read easier but it's never moving on the screen. The section starts zoomed in and pans nice and quickly as needed so that by the time I've noticed the new next things are stationary. Another possible way to do it is to only have a section of the screen zoomed in (picture in picture). That way it isn't as disorientating when everything is zoomed in. Edit: Like at 7:50. I liked this one Lastly, it would also be helped by potato not moving the mouse around when hovering over civics/techs etc. and thus moving the displayed tech. I understand this is just a little habit and could be hard to change in which case it's certainly not ruining the video. Just thought I'd mention it in case it's an easy fix. In general though, the added edits are really helpful and I think are certainly heading in the right direction!

For a future modded let's play, if you decide to do one, try out JNR's Urban Complexity Collection on the steam workshop in conjunction with the City Light's mod. With these mods together, city management allows for more flexibility and specialization in one's empire. If you also add a better AI mod, you will definitely have a great challenge ahead. Any ways that was just a friendly suggestion, and I wish you a good day and hope you continue to produce excellent content.

Here's an idea for a challenge: No tech or civic boosts. If you happen to get a boost, reload your previous safe file. It's really fun since technologies effectively allow you to do what their boosts say, which adds a ton of value to things I wouldn't normally rush, and makes planning everything really fun, kinda like the opposite of Babylon. I'd recommend Rome for this one because their early culture can help research the more restrictive things such as Early Empire which is boosted by having 6 population or Foreign Trade. Since culture and science are much harder to get I'd maybe recommend trying to win a diplomatic victory, which doesn't really involve many boosts besides Diplomatic Service.

Two things. It is possible to get Alliances in a Domination game if you wait to start attacking in the mid game after forming friendships and using casus belli to reduce grievances. Second, the Foreign Ministry reduces levying cost by half and gives city-state units extra combat strength, which works great for Hungary.

Hi Potato! Great video! This is a very unique strategy for a domination game, and the combo with Himiko-Hungary is awesome! I have 1400 hrs on civ (I know you have many more) but I wanted to suggest a mod that I have found incredibly useful in my games and I think would add to the educational quality of your videos. I understand you don't love using mods in your videos because there's no guarantee your viewers have the mods, but this particular mod doesn't change any gameplay. The mod is called "Better Report Screen (UI)" by Infixo, and it makes the report screen VERY useful. It calculates the exact effects of every possible policy, wonder, and religious belief on your total yields and also makes managing units much easier. It can show you exactly what you will get by plugging in a certain policy (how much money conscription will save you, for instance). It helped me realize that some policies are much more or less valuable than I assumed in different situations. I have nothing to do with this mod, I just think it could make your videos even more helpful and educational. Thanks for another great video!

Watching you and Ursa Ryan play Hungary, I am thinking that I will try that strategy with a focus on getting Amani +3 promotions. Cause a lot of times, you run out of city states you could levyn because the AI has their own Amani and a lot of envoys in one city, and while using Himiko to get envoys is great, the 2nd round of Levying, the city state has so many more expensive troops that you want to use Himiko charges for levying, I think. And while I think swordsmen are great for the initial rush, on a larger world a city state full of swordsmen is very expensive to levy the 2nd time. It is entertaining seeing how big a city state can get.

Sure it would be nice to have more uses for them but I can't think of anything but founding and improving your religion If you want to use great prophets to enhance your religion you have to make sure that no player who has no great prophet can gain one after a certain amount of players (as many as religions can be founded) got a prophet (not found a religion since you can delay that as long as you want) Alternatively you can add another class of GPs maybe called prophets (not great ones since they don't found but just enhance an existing religion) and only players who got a GP have access to those At the end both systems mean you have to add several new great persons to the game and have lots of work for something the existing system already does (since you can use the faith you get from your great prophet points to buy apostles and enhance your religion with those)

@@chozengaming8547 that's actually a pretty good description of Apostels (with the right promotions, +20 combat strength and deletes 75% of pressure from different religions) so I guess we don't need another version of this I guess the only thing what's left is something like a great general for religious units but then you still have to debate about which units they boost - all of yours (you can buy units from different religions if you have cities following different religions), just the ones you buy from your own religion or maybe even all units from your own religion, even those others purchased? In any case you would not need more than a few of them since religious units don't have any upgrades so a prophet from the ancient era will still be able to provide its bonus to future era apostles

The next playthrough you should do is a deity game where you intentionally make mistakes and then show how you get past them. I'd say probably have a list of mistakes you have to make each era (2 maybe?) And you have to pick two mistakes to make. So like put a city in a bad location, place a zone in a bad square, take the wrong upgrade path, use your envoys on b the wrong city state, pursue a bad victory condition for you civ, etc. Not only fun to watch but educational too.

Also about that Eger farm triangle, why after feudalism is the yields +3 each? Wouldn't it be benefitial to also put farms on the tiles east of the farm triangle. As it is (if you have extra builder charges) better to make farm clusters such that it would have sacrificial farms that you wont even work besides the tiles you actually work. If you would have a farm triangle surrounded by farms, the middle farm triangle yields would be +6 on grasslands(ever seen a wheat triangle[with a watermill]?), + you'd have housing.
