Little incidents like this certainly happen all the time in Starfleet. I loved how Commander Mooney didn't panic, and just came up with the ruse as if it were no big deal.

Dutch is pretty laid back. :)

In a very odd coincidence, onboard CV-43 (USS Coral Sea) for the 1977 WestPac deployment, there was a Commander Mooney assigned to the Dental Department. The first thing he said when you sat in his chair was, "you know they call me the butcher!" No relation I hope.

Tribbles: Klingon repellent. Don't visit the Neutral Zone without one!

Sector 46A. I caught that reference. About the no uncoded signals when potential hostiles are in the area. The tribble ruse could have backfired. They could have laid waste to the planet. According to DS9, the Klingons wiped them out in "The Great Tribble Hunt".
@Potemkin17116 жыл бұрын
I never knew when the Great Tribble Hunt took place, but for our purposes posited that it took place after this incident. :) Great catch on 46A; not sure everyone caught that! Congrats!

It was mentioned in Trials and Tribbleations in the bar on space station K-7. Worf declared tribbles pests and that his people had wiped them out. Odo then said in a derisive tone, "Do they still sing songs about the great tribble hunt?" I'm sure the Klingons don't call it that. That was Odo's name for it.
@Potemkin17116 жыл бұрын
Yes, but when in the timeline did that Great Hunt take place? I never have seen that on an episode.
@kellyrayburn40936 жыл бұрын
That's not specified in the episode. Sometime in the 70 or so years between "The Trouble With Tribbles" and the Next Generation Era. I have found no other on-screen references in either the prime timeline or in the JJ timeline. I would have to say sometime between this and "Trials and Tribbleations." I know. That's a lot of time, but they haven't released anything that would narrow it further.

I don't think tribbles actually were wiped out. They're mentioned in numerous novels (non-canon, I know), and one of the kids being evacuated to the saucer on the Ent-D was carrying one (don't feel bad if you missed it, took me 20 years to notice).

Another great video but the Klingon commander says he is speaking from a Bird of Prey when the Klingon ships seen are not this type of ship.

Very well done. I especially like the realistic depiction of the Andorian shop burning. How did you do that?

We are blessed with a number of highly talented VFX artists. Mark Berge, for example, did the VFX for "The Talinar Incident." I'll pass along your comments to him.
