Cool trick, but Why would you want a tiny digital readout for speed and RPM, when you have big beautiful gauges that are easier to see and even easier yet to read? Seems like TMW to go thru all the menu selections just to have it reset the next time you cycle the ignition switch.

Love the hacks!! But I have a question for you...1998 323 i convertible. Sometimes I hear 3 soft beeps some mornings but not always, occaisionally later in day, and sometimes not a daily occurrence. Nothing lights up as if a problem. Car is running well when this happens The tones come from the instrument cluster area. Thanks Jay

Hi, thank you very much. As far is I understand this has to do with the MEMO function, it is a reminder of sorts for the clock. Not sure how to turn it off, the owners manual would be your best bet or google. Hope that helps.

The passenger seat has to be jostled with your bum before the seatbelt is released. Took the small cushion away and it solved the problem. Is there a hack to bypass this seat safety switch or adjust the contacts closer ?

@@MDvanDyk There are a few 'solder' workarounds, but that may effect the 'tightening-belt' action. You know, when the wife screams, " It locked me in and I can't move, dammit !" That happens often when I'm driving... LOL

Hello from PAris, thank you for the videos!!!. I have an Eprom problem on my 2001 Z3 with EEP-1 error, the needle on my oil gauge is no longer working and the fuel gauge and tachometer are not either. Can I use your method to display the oil and fuel gauge like you do for the speed display? THANKS!!

Hi, thank you. I am not sure if you are able to display the oil or fuel unfortunately. You can Google to check but I don’t think it is possible.

I just took a look at a 1996 BMW Z3 (private party sale) and when I went to start the car, I was looking for the "check engine" light on the dash, but it never appeared. Could the ECU be programmed to not show the light or could the bulb be removed? My OBD2 scanner showed it had a catalytic converter issue.

MY 2001 Z3 won't start until the seatbelt is connected. How do I turn off that feature? I would like to be able to start the car without the seatbelt connected. Thank you

Hi, I believe this is an issue that needs to be done by the dealer. You need to connect to the OBD2 and set this setting on the ECU.

Hi, as soon as you turn the key and push the button to enter the test, press it again immediately to try and make it go into the menu. Hope it works for you.

Hi, the red interior Z3 is actually ours and we did do this. The only clip I used which is another BMW was of the “sweep” as we could not access that function.
