I would have enjoyed that. As always, I'm curious as to the cost, apart from the wines. I know I'm showing my lack of class. As Americans say; "if you have to ask, you can't afford it,!" Hahaha. Yesterday I went with a nephew to our favorite restaurant. YD Tofu House here in Sacramento California. We have massive Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese communities here so the Asian food is always the best. We love Korean BBQ...Bulgogi . And this is the one we love. Beef ribs... and .Tonkatsu.. (breaded pork) in Korean...Don katsu. And more than fifteen side dishes. I was thinking of you as we ate and how much fun it would have been if you had joined us.

Haha, the food you had certainly sounds great! When I'm not having fine dining (which is most of the time), I'm pretty much having either home cooked meals or something along the lines of those comfort food and maybe even simpler versions. The tasting menu now on the website says 6,300 bhat which is around $180 USD before VAT and 10% service charge. They might have raised the price a bit since my visit but I can't be sure of that. It's not cheap by any means but for what it offers I think it's of good value. I can certainly imagine it being at least $280 in NYC.

This meal looked pretty good and worth a stop if you're in Bangkok. Do you think it deserves its place in the top 50 restaurants in Asia?

I think so! For this level of execution and presentation combined with the exploratory experience, it firmly earns a spot. These elements and qualities are usually what 50 Best is looking for.

I don't remember the price. I usually do not focus on the pricing but rather the experience and culture exploration aspects. That being said, I believe this meal was around $200 USD with wine pairing.

Interesting, here it means ordinary in Chines, as it's a Chinese restaurant and the Chinese writing on the banner confirms it.
