Pottery is a contemplative art. It's refreshing seeing someone, who isn't wrestling 25 pounds of clay, to make a big, horrid pot of little artistic value in a 60 second video. She obviously enjoys the journey of making one of a kind, pottery.
@hobblecreekpottery Жыл бұрын
Amen! Though I'd love to wrestle a 25 pound pot someday, lol.

I would love to see the owls and the pigs. These are adorable! ❤One question - rather than attaching ears, have you considered using a knife and doing a slight snip with scissors on the actual form?

How do you keep track of your clays by low or mid? I end up using light or buff and often get confused. I have tried keeping separate buckets for scrap but doesn't always work. I also have some reclaim that dried out from many years ago!
@hobblecreekpottery Жыл бұрын
All my clay is the same cone fire. And I have two reclaims, one is a mix of everything, the other is just bmix.
@tegannottelling Жыл бұрын
Don't know if this will help but I have separate buckets for slip with names on them I put masking tape on the drying bats with the name of the clay if they are different firing temps and I basically know what each looks like fired

I enjoy your channel so much because you’ve taught me SOOOOO much!!!! You’re so down to earth and relatable. Thank you for your inspiration. The only thing I want to ask you is how you price your items and how and where do you sell them? God bless
@hobblecreekpottery Жыл бұрын
Pricing is sooo hard. So many things go into it. I start these guys at 35. I sell at a local coffee shop and have 2 sales a year at the studio, plus a few favorite markets during the year. I'm lucky enough to have a big customer base that I've nurtured over the years. And if I have any pots left, I might do an Etsy restock. I hope that helps.
@roadmap5351 Жыл бұрын
Love these! What do you sell them for?
@hobblecreekpottery Жыл бұрын
I sell them for $35. Thanks for watching.
@tegannottelling Жыл бұрын
I was just thinking too, and I hope you don't mind me saying my two cents worth, if you add 'pottery' into your titles (Ie Pottery Hedgehogs penny banks and garden deco) you will end up with more people as a lot of people just search up pottery for inspiration and your videos are so well done people will subscribe after watching one 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 May the Kiln Gods be kind 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

With all do respect, I don’t have a wheel, so my question is couldn’t this be hand built some how? Crudely built of course? Maybe even the birdhouse/fairy house design? Maybe not as perfect as wheel thrown of course. Whaddaya think? I’m just wondering, watching the videos. I’m just a beginner and my mind races.. thanks, I love everything you do!

Yes, they can be hand-built. If do them with pinchpots. Put two pinchpots together to make a closed form and you'll good to go.
