As a professional, it in rages me to see good hard working, honest people get taken advantage of. This why I became an expert witness and I travel all across this country repairing bad construction job done by so many crooks in my industry. However, your smile is infectious and the sheer joy you bring to us makes us not want to say anything negative because you're such a positive person and we need more people like you, but me on the other hand...I can't stand to see wrong being done on good people. @ThriftDiving3 жыл бұрын
Right! They had to remove my fence....remove my garden beds....and busted up the lawn. I wasn't expecting all this. But pain before pleasure. The big truck isn't necessary for concrete, though. They can pump it from the curb side, too. And you can get a shed base that is just gravel and 6x6. Much easier and less expensive!
@theshivelys3 жыл бұрын
@@ThriftDiving I’ll have to consider that as an alternative. When we did our patio extension and path they had to pump it back there. If we do a pad though they would need to crane the equipment in if we didn’t want to hand dig because our side yards are only 6 ft wide here in AZ where I live. I also don’t know if their pump is long enough because our yard is like 5000 sqft and the spot is at the furthest part of the yard. I probably should have did all that before we did the yard 😂

How exciting for you! 🎉 Your video is perhaps perfectly timed as I'm trying to decide whether I buy a new headboard and dresser or paint/remake our current dark cherry furniture. Instead of our cherry poster bed, I would like it light colored. But the furniture has a protective gloss and I'm an inexperienced painter who doesn't want to regret our work. It's very nicely made and sturdy 3 piece set. 😥🤔 Which videos do you suggest I watch of yours, @ThriftDiving?
@ThriftDiving3 жыл бұрын
Ahhh....what a dilemma! I would definitely consider painting it to save money from buying new. Because even if you bought brand new, you'd be getting rid of the other furniture anyhow. So you may as well try to reuse what you have. Since you're new, I would recommend getting a piece of furniture (small) that you can practice on first, so you feel comfortable. Email me and I can recommend some resources for you! Hard to copy and paste them while I'm on KZbin. And send me pics! Email: serena@thriftdiving.com

Is it in one of the 2 configurations you asked your fans about a while back? What ultimately helped you finalize your decision on placement? I want to put a shed in my backyard but I don't know here I want to put it.
@ThriftDiving3 жыл бұрын
Placement was a biggie for me! I did ask my audience where they liked it best, but I was leaving toward catty-corner because it just looked better and I could see it blending in nicely with the corner of the yard. I took a picture of my yard and drew in several placements to see what looked best. Everyone agreed catty-corner looked best for my yard. But keep in mind you likely have to be a certain number of feet from your property line. And what kind of view did you want to see from your shed? Use painters tape to tape off where you could place it and see which one feels better, too! :)
@jaycahow46672 жыл бұрын
The floor rebar needed to be elevated some before the floor is poured. It does not offer much support if it just sets on the bottom of the pad. I see they did no rebar on the the sides but with the deeper footing and light walls it was not really needed but rebar is pretty cheap.. If you live in a colder climate you could have put some foam insulation under the pad to keep the floor warmer inside but since I saw no roof vent in later episodes it looks like you are more interested in cooling than heating the space.
