I'm amazed that someone is not only unafraid to add miles to a $70million car, but is willing to do so by doing hotlaps.
@cmdreffietrinket3 жыл бұрын
I asked Martin Brundle in a Q&A once a few years ago, how he would compare racing a modern day F1 car, to racing a GTO at Goodwood. He answered that one is merely racing a car, whilst the GTO is like racing a car whilst carrying a Picaso under your arm with a gun to your head.

it seems to be the way of alot of GTO owners they use their cars...Nick Mason even has different engines for the different ways he uses his.

Once a car becomes this valuable the mileage has 0 affect on the value. Instead racing provenance is what separates them in value. Personally i prefer the 250 TR with pontoon fenders.

Old ferraris are the coolest! The greatest night of my life was coming home from a graveyard shift and merging onto the motorway directly behind a 260 gto that was being driven from event to event. The smell of the petrol, the sound of the motor and the styling! Nothing is comparable. If it wasn’t for construction stopping us at the end of the motorway i never would have had the chance to take a photo and prove it happened
@jeffreyoldham553 жыл бұрын
I was intently focused on the gated shifter as the driver left the pits, waiting for the shift to second, and...hmmm, how curious...he skipped second. Now we know. The absolute pinnacle of automotive experiences. You, Casey, are a lucky man!

Respectfully, this is indeed a beautiful car...and if I'm going to watch a 10 minute video of a ride along of one the world's all-time great cars...the gearbox and synchros should be in proper operational condition. Running around in 3rd gear is indeed a tremendous display of the car's capabilities...and a neutered driving/riding/viewing experience. Pro tip: If your "synchros are out" on your $70M classic car? You probably shouldn't be driving it because there is a very strong possibility there is loose shrapnel in the gear box that used to BE...the synchro. In closing, simply the greatest factory exhaust note ever.

I bought a 1995 Camaro for $2,000 , and for less than $10,000 I could probably make it into something that is just as good and still only a $12,000 car . What that thing is worth is literally enough to feed an entire small country for a couple of months . Sorry I didn't mean what it's worth , I meant what rich people are willing to pay for it . I don't care what anyone says the only reason any car cost more than $100,000 is because of corporate greed and corruption .

*Not the best Ferrari! I've read the Book about that car and her story (the information in that book was gathered for 38 years so it is very legit)! 250 GTO (actually all 250's) never won any race for what they were designed and builded - Le Mans, Spa, Targa Florio or Migle Migllia! Even Bazzarinni (her designer) says that she is ugly! All mechanics around the propotype in 1960 at Monza have been shocked how ugly she is and there is stories and photos that confirming that! Stirling Moss was her first ever driver at Monza in 1960 to test her and he said in interview in 1990 Quote: "She was absolute junk ...it feels like you driving uncontrolable Lokomotive. I didn't like her because she was scary and odd ugly!". She have been not popular and Ferrari sells her very hard (mainly in USA and Canada because the Europeans were not impresed by her)! Enzo himself Nicknamed that machine "Il Mostro" - The Monster! His son Piero Ferrari one said about 250 GTO Quote: "I've spoken many times with Papa about her. Colombo was an Masterpiece V12 but the body of 250 GTO and the overall design was a fail!*
@dreyn77803 жыл бұрын
Wrong guy for that car. If you put a wheel in the dirt on any road race track, there's something wrong and you should go back to basics and think about what you're doing. Force yourself to drive in the middle of the complex circle race track. Don't cut and corners! Do you know how many people have put their million dollar car into the rubbish bin cause they were cutting corners on complex circle race tracks?
