Thanks for this video, I've got a track day booked in June so I'll be watching plenty more times before then 🤣

I love Thruxton but god does it kill tyres compared to somewhere like Castle Combe.
@AdamChristo3 жыл бұрын
Ah yes tell me about it, super porous tarmac, loads of grip on the wet, but as you said the high speed long loaded corners eat tyres for fun.

good timing, I am there in my Twingo at the end of May. I haven't driven the track before so I'll study this video many times in the hope to get as much of the lines as correct as possible. But I won't be smashing it over the kerbs all day! New wishbones and dampers please!!!

billyboy205gti ah sweet. The Twingo will be bulletproof like the clio. It’s the high impact or high frequency curbs that do the damage. The first curb on the right into the final complex is ok as the car is so unloaded at that point. But the other two curbs rattle the car to pieces a bit. Make sure to check your tyres after each session as it’s an aggressive surface at Thruxton.

Adam Christo will do! But I have to say that the road tyres start off ok for a couple of laps then drop off a bit but don’t get any worse. I am doing 1 hour at a time and 140 laps per day and don’t notice any difference after a the initial drop off. And I do drive the wheels off it!

Damn, I was there but managed 5 laps due to engine problems, damn, didnt even you there :(

Rob Sutherland ahh no, sorry to hear man. I arrive just for the afternoon. Probably only got on track at 2.30pm. You got your car sorted?

Yon need to swap out that 197 for a 182.. ;) peaking at 105mph round church is a little disappointing.
@AdamChristo4 жыл бұрын
Mistral Motorsport I thought about getting one to be honest, the 182’s are known for being quicker around most track due to how light weight they are. I mainly use this car for teaching clients in so as long as it’s consistent and affordable it doesn’t really matter what I use.

The 197 is a good car keep it

This is a 2007 Renault Clio sport 197. With Ferodo racing pads, Michelin Pilot Sport 4's, lowered suspension and one careful owner. 😇

@@AdamChristo get some semi slicks and you will improve👍😁
@AdamChristo3 жыл бұрын
@@jameswilson8820 dont know if my neck would be able to handle the wrath of the almighty clio on semi slicks. I’ve actually got a full set of slicks for it but never used them as I had no reason to. The car is only really used for coaching with so as long as it’s consistent between our runs then that’s the main thing.

Atif Saghir I’d like to think within 4 laps. It’s hard to say, depends on track length, layout and if there’s blind corners or not. Here’s a video of a track that was new to me in China. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXS1gaVsbdShq9U
