I thought you were building a product right away, but you're actually still learning. That's amazing! I recommend learning to just build the bare bones first and don't get carried away trying to optimize what you're building right off the bat. It's amazing to know that I'm not alone! I took a one year break before going to college to learn website development, and I can say it's been worth it. I will go to college to get a degree though, since I need to get experience to get "credibility"; To do that, I need internships and such. Good luck, man!

good luck man and thanks for the kind words. This journey has been daunting but also exciting, I'm glad you found it worth it! Hopefully I will also come out of it satisfied with what I have learned :)

I respect the grind. Coding definitely isn't something you can fully understand in a month time frame, but the ambition shows.

yea it is a steep learning curve!! But I love the learning process and being humbled by being put in a beginner's spot again!

Love the videos my man and wishing you well on your startup journey I was wondering what your honest hours were like during your stint in consulting? Would appreciate as much detail as possible. What were hours like when working on CDD studies vs strategy studies? I hear that at Bain and T2s (oc&c, s&, EYP etc), the schedule is a/ Weekend no work, b/ Fridays 4-6 finish and c/ you get one early evening between M-T. Was this the case at your shop? Based off friends and what you hear, do you also find this to be general consensus? I'm really big on lifestyle but also want a good career, so its kinda paramount that I get the balance right thanks in advance! :)

hey man! Thanks for the support. To answer you question- my experience was broadly similar to what you described with the exception of the hours. I think 4-6pm is a bit optimistic haha, my average finish was probably more like 7-9pm. With that being said hours vary massively... I have gone home at 5pm and have also gone home at 1am. CDD hours are generally longer as they are shorter sprints with tight deadlines, whereas strategy hours are shorter but they are projects with longer timelines. Hours when you're on the bench (not staffed) is obviously the best. My personal take is that you can't always optimise for everything- its hard to get both the good hours and a good career. (With the exception of tech lol) You're gonna have to put in the hours especially early on in your career, or you can make a conscious choice of taking it a bit easier but accepting your career might not accelerate as fast as it could have. Hope that helps. Feel free to DM me on IG to ask more questions!

Get ready to be humbled lol, actually anyone can build things, but not everyone can build things well.

sooo ready to get humbled hahaha. I know I'll keep failing especially as I'm starting from scratch- but I see it as character development and learning experiences

If you just want to "build", then start building with the tools / frameworks of your choice. Otherwise, you're going to waste so much of your time learning things that you won't even need. Speaking from experience.
