and...do what, exactly? as shown in undertale's pacifist and neutral routes, asgore is completely willing to let the human stay for as long as they want to in the underground, saying that they will fight only when frisk has completed all of their unfinished business, and in undertale yellow, he gives clover a chance to turn around and leave when they confront him in the flawed pacifist route, which they don't take. so, it's not like they have to convince him not to kill clover, he is perfectly content not doing that. so...what exactly would they do to asgore? kill him? doesn't seem like much of a pacifist route to me.
