Fab video! I really like the uncut feel but I did struggle to hear what you were saying over the music. Glad the guy was ok at the end. Love the video. Im 31 years old and somehow just now getting into bikes. I want to start with the Rebel 300 because im paying cash for a new one and i also live 1 mile from my job. Also most roads around me are 55mph. Highway is 35 miles away, but it's not really recommended as theres alot of crashes here in central Missouri on i44 and i have no reason to travel them atm. I am 6 foot tall. Would you recommend the 300 with what ive mentioned? Me and my slightly younger brother just want to cruise and enjoy the ride. We been watching your videos lately and now we want to have cruise sessions. We understand power is good, but it also has it's situations where its good and bad for safety.

this looks like a lot of fun. I haven't done anything like this since about 20 years ago for a car track meet. There are no roads like this where I live. At least not within 2 hours away. 2 hours away and 2 hours back on a sports bike isn't all that comfortable.
@LifeOfBurch Жыл бұрын
We’re definitely so fortunate to have roads like this around here! Sometimes I take that for granted honestly. I feel you on not wanting to ride a 4 hour round trip just to get to the roads worth riding. At that point I’d rather trailer the bike there, have a blast on the nice roads, then trailer it back! 😂🤘🏻
@Snafu2346 Жыл бұрын
@@LifeOfBurch I've actually been planning on buying a new daily driver that could tow or carry a trailer to do exactly that. 800lb trailer, or 400-500 lbs if its aluminum trailer. And a 400lb bike or two. I don't want a big truck or suv since it'd be my daily to work and stuff. Maybe some mid size hybrid suv. Then I could trailer it all the way up to where you guys are at and ride along.

Leading a large group ride on wet roads and regularly going over the posted limit by 10 to 15 mph..... What could go wrong? Seriously I'm all for a fun pace but you got to be much more careful with a large group like that
@LifeOfBurch Жыл бұрын
Bro what this was the definition of a leisurely pace 😂😂😂 In the video I say twice that I’m going slow to ensure everyone’s safety, and I started the ride with a pre-ride safety briefing. Shit happens. Trying to pin it on me is wild behavior lmao Edited to add that the turn where the crash happened was taken by the Toyota Tacoma in front of us faster than our group took it. If a Tacoma is taking a turn faster than a motorcycle…I can assure you we had safety in mind 😂

I guess there is some lessons to be learned here about managing a motorcycle Train. Above a certain size (probably 20) make sure you have cardo/phone call between front and back riders to coordinate. If your pack is big enough have a middle rider also be in the pack (I'd say this is big enough). Have the back rider, or a couple of riders near the front, be ready to stop traffic at minor intersections (like the one you were worried about losing people around the time you found out about the accident). Your size was small enough to where it wouldn't have been an issue to stop traffic. When you get too big (100+) the group can get too crazy and cause too much of an obstruction. Look up the jacksonville FL Grom Day. Couple hundred people on groms and other mini motos. Pure chaos to an extent with people doing wheelies in the middle of the group. Stuff like that requires a strong train lead and self policing.

Big group rides stress me out because you can never be sure what someone’s ability or skill level may be PLUS you never know what someone will do. Then there’s the show-off/testosterone factor. I’ll ride solo with a small group of friends. Group rides, not my cup of tea. I’m stressed watching the video.
