Yeah, haven't done Josh's course, but reddit is just a negative place in general. Would definitely take opinions on there with a grain of salt. There's tons of misleading opinions spread by overly confident people who have no experience with whatever they're talking about, yet their comment will get upvoted if it reinforces a particular negative bias that reddit has. Don't get me wrong, it has its value as a forum, but the default reddit point of view is so cynical it is often divorced from reality.

I haven't signed up for the course yet, but I will be doing so within the next month (still finishing up the Google cert). What I really appreciate about the premise of the course, in addition to gaining hands-on SOC experience, is that it presents people helping each other as a positive. What I've seen on a lot of different platforms is a very nasty, condescending spirit amongst folks in the IT/security sector. Rather than being helpful, people launch personal attacks when newbies ask questions ("You're lazy!" "You're dumb!" "Google is free!" "IT/security isn't for everybody.") Making answering questions and helping people who are working through the course an integral part of the internship was pretty ingenious and I can't wait to both learn and help others.

Some people see the world in an insufferably black and white view where they're simultaneously not knowledgeable about what they're speaking on, but still working to demotivate people who are actually out there doing it. Working on the IT course now and finding so much use out of it without having completed it. I now see just how much even a sys admin role is within my grasp with the right effort! Thanks Josh

If people truly are worried about this being a scam, Josh continuously uploads free information. The employability framework for a lot of people must be a godsend. If people are concerned about projects, you can literally just Google people's projects with steps. If you think the internship isn't worth the money, Josh literally uploaded videos on how you could make your own experience. This course just packages everything in a way that's accessible

I completed Josh's IT course careers offering last year and soon after found a full-time help desk role in a large IT department and have been there for 6 months now (I also got the A+, full disclosure). As someone who spent tens of thousands on an arts degree that led to nowhere, 500 bucks to get the skills and strategy to land an entry level IT job, is a drop in the bucket in my books. I can't comment on the quality of your course, because I haven't taken it. However, your videos are top notch, as they're filled with actionable steps and sound knowledge/concepts. A large percentage of people who can't find work have terrible resumes (I was one of them). Their resume isn't built for the AI screeners, therefore they never get considered for an interview. I had my resume professionally done and consistantly get contacted by recruiters. 99% of the time, your resume is your first impression and if it isn't set up correctly, you're not getting a second look.

I was initially skeptical of Josh’s courses, but as a current student of his IT course. I can tell you it is comprehensive and on point. I know without doubt I will get a great job in IT once I finish. I’m very excited. My advise for anyone thinking about doing it is if you are a complete beginner to anything IT really take the time to watch videos of related IT concepts Josh covers. Like DHCP, DNS, IP, Protocols, Cloud Infrastructure, etc. Many things you won’t grasp right away. And Josh also suggests the same after every lesson.

What I've learned is you can have all the certs and degrees you want, but if you don't get out there and meet people that can vouch for your abilities, you're just going to be swimming in an empty pool. That's not to say you shouldn't get some merits under your belt. Having that degree is going to help, having a couple of certs will help, but you have to do the leg work. Josh is as real as it gets. I got one cert and I'm working towards my next degree, but I got into tech within a year of watching his videos. You're not to going to get the six figure salary out the gate just because you're decorated and can pass a test. You have to be willing to get in where you fit in and make sacrifices. I have two years experience in IT. I currently work in Implementation, and I worked PRN as an IT Specialist for a year. Everything Josh says is possible, but you have to be willing to sacrifice and do what others aren't. Find that night shift job, find that part time job, travel if that will work for you. You're not the only one wanting into this field of work. So rejection is going to be frequent and painful, but you have to keep trying if you want it. If you're in school, odds are your professor is an adjunct with experience in the field. Pick their brain, ask how they got in the field. You have to use any resource you can. If you're working at place, try to talk to someone on their IT team and see how they got in. Not everyone will be willing to help, but all you need is one yes. I see so many people in the comments benefitting from these videos. I'm offended that someone would call it a scam. When someone asks me how I got into tech, I share a Josh Madakor video with them. I typically don't believe in content creators, but this channel is by far the most honest one I've ever seen.

Four hundred dollars for a course is not expensive. Here in Seattle we pay that price for only 20 workout lessons. Hosting a honey pot costs money. Anyway, employer expect you self-educated before even looked at your resume. Which ends up you may found yourself invested a lot in education while only found a bare above minimum paid job.

I took the course, and while it was good the $500 price tag was a little crazy. Was it worth it? Depends on the persons situation. With absolutely 0 experience, I would say overall, yes. If you have experience in IT or related fields, it really depends on what you have experience in. But if you read what the course does, you'll know if you need that experience. I have absolutely 0 experience in IT and Cyber, so for ME it was worth it. I'd give it a 9/10 with the ONLY downside being $500.
