Powder Coat McLaren Caliper & Ferrari Calliper Restoration
In this video we are going to be looking at a McLaren caliper restoration and powder coating along side a Ferrari F348 Calliper.
This is my debut video so please be gentle, like and subscribe as we have many more interesting videos in the pipeline!

As you can see these have come out really nice, its almost a shame they wont be seeing the mp4-12c again, the customer is putting them on display somewhere or the other.
As said before these are a show piece not to be fitted to the car so it hasn't mattered about blasting the ports or taping up any mating faces and personally if they were to be functional i would of Cerakote ceramic coated them. Nethertheless they have come out mint and will look at home inside a glass cabinet on show at a dealership!

If you hadn't said so you wouldn't know this was your first video so well done Mick, I do know the principles behind powder coating but never really seen it done (apart from Tonys vids) the orange powder coat gives a good gloss as it is but the clearcoat really brings it alive. So when you are applying the powder is it possible to over do it and get runs in it after baking? look forward to your next vid Mick and I hope your channel is a huge success 🤗👊👍

Thank you John. The videos are definitely going to get better quality as we go! And you certainly can get powder to run! As I get a little more confident with the channel I'll give a guide on thickness and how to get a feel to different powders etc.

Thank you! Aluminium oxide, 120 grade. It isn't too harsh and all parts go into a chemical strip tank before hand.

@@kenmacritchie15 no blast media will easily remove previous powder coating but try with a 60/40 grade or glass bead, might take a while though without stripping.

@@UniqueCoatings I'm using a roofing blow torch to burn 90% off & for oil soaked parts I'm going to get a metal garden bin & a gas burner, fill the bin with degreaser & water heat it up & cook the part
