I discovered Nido through your channel, and it is life changing. I don’t drink milk often, but I use it for cooking. Now, I’m never out of milk when I need it for a recipe, and I’m not wasting leftover milk either. I can’t imagine how much I’ve saved through this tip. I tell everyone about it. Thanks for sharing, AG! 👍🏻

I make up 2 cups and keep in a jar in refrig. I love Nido. I also like the Spanish section powder chicken and beef packets. I buy 1 pound of yeast and keep in a jar in refrig. It lasts forever. Soup mixes are also good. After Christmas look for cocoa flavored mixed reduced for quick sale. You can use in recipes such as brownies instead of cocoa powder and reduce the sugar. I also look for the candied fruit on clearance.

Found out that Nido Fortificada is not 100% cows milk. It contains a lot of soy protein. Asked the company how much is soy, they said it’s their private company information and can’t reveal the percentage. If you’re sensitive to soy or want to avoid it (much of soy is GMO), then please be aware Nido isn’t all dairy milk.

You know what I love the best about your video tutorials is that you don't replay over and over again the same beginning introduction that lasts 3 to 4 minutes. That gets old real quick after seeing it 4 to 5 times that other you tubers do to their videos. You get right to the point and teach which I appreciate so much. I love watching your videos. Finally someone gets it! I despise long intros, they’re pointless. It’s not like we need to get a sneak peak in order to decide whether we’re gonna turn the channel on the tv. We selected the video, so start it. People use them because it makes them feel legit. If 60 min has one, then I must as well. I needed to hear someone agree with me on that. I love you.

The dictum "Keep your powder dry" takes on new meaning. As long as we have electricity we can put chocolate in the freezer and it will store much longer than it otherwise would. Yes, jello is safe for people who are dehydrated from a gut issue or post surgery as it is a clear liquid. I slit them so you can scoop the rice out as needed, but it doesn't mix with the earth. They say Diatomaceous earth is perfectly safe to ingest, but I've also heard it's 'not' so good for you. This protects from bugs, but still preserves the rice nicely. It's easier for me than using expensive oxygen absorbers which harden quickly and must be replaced. Thank you for your video. Great list Granny. I managed to dehydrate some scrambled eggs but nothing raw, ... yet. I'm really going to try to keep my small flock of hens going for fresh eggs and barring all Foxes, Raccoons, Hawks, and Bird-Flu, ... I just might be able to do it too. I'll soon have to let the rooster out with the hens again to make sure my eggs are fertile for hatching and I can only pray that my little red hen goes broody again because the incubator doesn't get the results that natural hatching does. I'm lucky to get a 50% hatch rate with the incubator. I'm blessed to have a Bulk Barn Store that sells bulk Mac and Cheese Mix made with real cheese so I've been packing that stuff away in Mason jars with an oxygen absorber. Then there was the time I found numerous plastic jars of grated Parmesan cheese in the dumpster. I was told that it didn't go bad and so far it's true. I just opened a jar that must be two years past its BBD and you'd never know it. I only wish we had a local supply of that butter powder. I don't do much buying over the internet. So I've made Ghee and have plans to can some butter without clarifying it. Have a great one Granny!

I also grind my own powdered fruits and veges for making smoothies. Dairy like sour cream, cream cheese, yoghurt can all be purchased in powdered form, I make my own with a freeze drier. Tomatoe powder I purchase too much work to make on my own it is worth the cost in a number 10 can. I also use almost everything you shared except butter powder I prefer to have canned ghee.

Hi Granny ! Wonderful video and information ! I’ve recently bought Tomato Powder which was a new find. Quite a lot of things you can do with it…. Make sauce, paste, ketchup, flavor other sauces. It was pretty pricey but nice to have on hand. Today bought cases of diced tomatoes, vegetables etc. Also picked up some staples from the church👍. At one point in time, I had a container of PB2 but gave it to my daughter. What was I thinking ! Bought Nido today as well, and they had PB powder but I passed on it today. There’s always next time ! Tfs Granny, love ALL your videos !

I did a little searching and was able to find a number of organic juice powders that can be used to make drinks, marinade, seasonings, flavoring (baking). I’m going to give some of these a try to save a little money - we like the bottled Ocean Spray and Simply Orange blended brands. Some of the powders I was able to find: Orange, lemon, lime, cranberry, mango, pomegranate, raspberry

Have you ever tried making "parmesan crisps?" You take a plastic margarine container, put a little cooking oil in the bottom. throw in some grated parmesan cheese, pop it in the microwave for about thirty seconds, maybe with some crumbled bacon or even Bacos. Pull it out of the micrwave and dump the contents on some wax paper. Voila! Flavorful Parmesan crisps!

Rainy Day foods has combination packs that include six #2.5 cans of dehydrated and powdered foods. They have baking packs, soup packs, vegetable packs, fruit packs, grain packs and dairy packs. They do have #10 cans and sell in bulk also. After getting staples from lds, Rainy Day was our go to. They use flat rate shipping and their prices are fair and there is usually a coupon code if you search usually 10% off. Worth checking out. Powdered dry nonfat milk is a good backup when your stores of canned evaporated milk start running low. I also like to keep a large stockpile of mashed potatoes along with a variety of gravy mixes, including country, brown, chicken, turkey and pork. Along with grits I have cream of wheat (aka farina), oatmeal (I prefer old fashion) and white rice. Grits can be ground to a flour and used to make white corn tortillas when cornmeal is not available. Rice can also be ground to a powder and used as flour, a thickening agent or a desperate milk substitute when mixed with water.

@anchorageprepper9008, I totally agree! I pressure can meat in Pint jars with broth. I pour the jar contents through a strainer into a measuring cup to use the broth in the gravy mixes. I make an easy stroganoff recipe using their roast beef gravy mix, powdered sour cream, dehydrated onions, garlic powder, mushrooms, peas, a pint of beef or venison and wide egg noodles. Beef or venison stew is delicious with their gravy and spices with veggies.

I have just about everything listed except for peanut butter powder (because of my peanut allergy). The things that stand out as missing from the list are powdered Gatorade, very useful to restore electrolyte imbalance due to heat stroke or fever, and Nesquick (chocolate or strawberry) to make reconstituted powdered milk more palatable to kids. I'm not sure about the shelf life of Ovaltine, a somewhat similar powdered product but isn't it fortified with vitamins? Ice tea and lemonade powders have a decent shelf life as well and they are mostly sugar (which is another item missing from the list). If you're using a Berkey or other high efficiency filter system to purify possibly contaminated city or well water, or even collected rainwater or questionable surface water, having a few bottles of colloidial mineral solution around is a good idea. It restores natural mineral levels without the potential contaminants, and improves the flat taste of some processed water. My only other suggestion is jars of chili and taco seasoning. You might find those very useful if you're ever reduced to hunting for (or more efficiently: trapping) small game.

Recipe for batter for eggplant fries 1 cup each flour, parmesan.n cheese, farina 1 Tbsp each, garlic pwd, onion pwd, smoked paprika, basil dried 2 teaspoons Tony cachere Shake - mix well, put in plastic bag Soak eggplant inch thick fries in cold water first, it keeps them from turning brown & batter sticks better Don't have to peel but you can. Put in oven. She didn't say how long. Keep left over batter in bag. If it gets gummy, put in a baking dish under broiler and dry out. Save. This was from Homestead Heart. I made the batter and keep in refrig and use it for chicken cutlet, fish fillets, crab cakes. So far so good without an egg wash. Have tried painting the cutlets and fish with mayo first and that worked out ok.

In Australia we have Kakadu Plum Powder. Kakadu Plum has been used by Aboriginals for thousands of years (their culture is 65,000 years old btw) to treat headaches and infections. It has antibacterial and anticancer properties. But the reason I use it in shakes and on salads is that it has 100% more vitamin C than oranges. Kakadu Plum has the world's highest level of natural vitamin C. Tang has synthetic vitamin C and yellow colouring that has been linked to cancer. Even one of your astronauts said it is terrible for you. I mix Kadadu plum powder with my collagen for super amazing skin. You can't absorb collagen without vitamin C. Kakadu plum powder is expensive but you only need a teaspoon to get the benefits. I get mine from Purewellness bulk supply in Queensland Australia, they are the cheapest I've found. Also I store broccoli sprout seeds, which isn't a powder but makes up nutrient dense sprouts in 7 days that are excellent for breast and other cancers😊😊

Everyone should add at least 50 Top Ramen packs to their emergency supply. They’re Insanely cheap and dehydrated. Replace the flavor packet with your fav spices and/or powders then add something like hemp seeds and you got a meal that’s cheap and lightweight.
