Whoa. Rodney really did like, never ever fall off his board. Thanks for posting this 13 years ago

Thanks for uploading this in its entirety (and in the quality in which it was intended to be watched). I've been wanting to see this since I first read about it in Hawk's book 10 years ago. This was when Cab and McGill were the two, most popular skaters on the planet, and Rodney had revitalized freestyle from languishing into obscurity (like slalom and downhill were). As for street skating, it consisted of little more than "curb grinders" as they called them at the time.

2:45-3:02 skater looks like Gator. We know Gator was on the BB team at some point. Is that him?
@JBH1235 ай бұрын
The skater in the green shirt and purple helmet is Mike McGill. Or did you mean the shirtless guy in the white helmet at 2:53? If so, I don't know either. Maybe just one of the locals at Lakewood, the skatepark where that clamshell pool was located.

@Nominay So Cab and Mcgill was the best skaters before Hosoi, Hawk, Mountain and Phillips took over ? Mcgill never did anything cooler then the Mctwist he invented. He had a very boring style at the end of his professional career.
@robinsonkelly6785 Жыл бұрын
Perhaps - but he HAD a professional skating career and invented one of the most important, challenging and transformative tricks in the history of vert skating. Fan or not - I think you owe him that respect.
