I don't understand how people are so confused...PCE and headline hasn't been coming down. Even if you don't have inflationary policies coming in via Trump (tariffs, tax cuts), there wasn't any guarantee for 3 cuts, let alone 4 (4 is a laughable prediction). Furthermore, the Fed will be adjusting rates from a position of strength - inflation is going up because the economy's doing well (GDP growth, relatively low unemployment). There's room to cut more if the economy shows signs of slowing, but even if they don't, so what? These talking heads sound like they're hopped up on something.

The only thing market should be watching is the labor market. Powell said this clearly many times, employment and inflation must be under control. Rate cut is a weapon and you cannot go zero. Chill out economy is still strong till next quarter
