Thanks Martin. Hmmm, that is a tricky one; sorry it's a long answer. Small sized power banks that have a high mAh number are nearly always BS. Unfortunately power banks that will work 'well' are large. One of the key things to remember from the video is it's best to have a power bank rated 12V @ 3A - In the video I use the Romoss power bank (the red ones) which are only 12V 2 1.5A, can those work for the pocket 4K and possibly the 6K? Yes, however as you saw you can NOT power anything else but the camera - no monitor and no charging an internal battery. Are there many very 'small' 10,000mAh power banks? Yes. Have I personally tested my own tiny 10,000mAh power banks? Yes. Do they work? Yes... but there is a BUT - not really worth it IMO for like an hour+ of recording. USB-C power banks are not an efficient way to power these cameras - here's a non-scientific calculation - my 10,000mAh NP-F batteries run for 4 and a half or so hours and are compact so a 30000mAh power bank like used in the video should run for 13 and a half hours but that is not the case; we only get about half that with power banks at 7+ hrs as you saw. I thing a better 'compact' solution for you would be 10,000mAh+ NP-F batteries; tiny and very easy to build a portable rig. Possibly google '10.500mAh NP-F battery' to find some. I know NP-F cost a little bit more than power banks but a much longer runtime for the compact size. The actual NP-F with ON/OFF switch that I use. I want to mount the powerbank on top of my bmpcc4k and i found out the company has the same powerbank but with less power (20000mAh) and less inputs/outputs but it would do what i need, and most importantly, it is not so thick, so smaller, lighter, more easy to attach to the smallrigh mount. The 30000mAh one is 4,5cm thick and im not sure how you make it work but i see two smallrigh powerbank mounts, so i guess with jsut one is too flimsy? Also im a bit confused about the 30000mAh vs 20000mAh, because on Aliexpress it says that the 30000 one actually outputs 18000 O-o and i dont find that info for the 20000 one.. so i wonder if the difference would be big in terms of how long the camera will work.. Hello one quick question. I have a 12V / 3A 65watts output power bank. However when I power both the monitor and bmpcc6k, either one works only? Am I doing anything wrong? I use a usbc splitter to take 2 USB c power outputs. Also I tried the direct USB 2 output for the monitor from the same power bank, but either the camera gets on of the monitor. Please help, thanks.

Great and informative Video! I am using the VEGER Power Bank 30000mAh, 20W PD, it's unfortunately bulky as hell. Can't find a powerbank holder which can hold it. Currently im using a water bottle holder and put it on the side of the rig, but cant handheld it, because of the unbalancing. Can you tell, which holder you purchased for the powerbank and how did you rig them? As I can see in your video, you are using 2 powerbank rig holder?

Thanks man. Oh I hear you, I tried all sorts of ways to mount the power bank and this is what I settled on. It;s not perfect but works for me. The power bank holders I'm using are the Smallrig 2790. The complicated bit is how to mount them - first the cage you're using MUST be the Tilta cage because it is all mounted to one of the points on the cage that Tilta made for their rod holders. That ability is one of the reasons the Tilta cages for the P4/6 cameras were miles ahead of everything else when they first came out... adaptability. If you do have that exact cage then you get the 'Tilta Bottom Single Rod Holder' and mount to the top. Add a couple of generic 15mm rod holders with 1.4" in the right place for the PB holders and put it all together. So sorry it's not an easy answer. If you don't have the Tilta cage I'm pretty sure you should be able to figure out what parts to get for your exact cage to build something similar. In this old video of mine @ 2:24 you can see a bit clearer how I first started using the Tilta Rod Holders to build what I call All-In-One with NP-F batteries that could go gimbal to tripod to jib without adjusting a single thing. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/an3SdIxvYpVqf5o Hopefully this answer helps a bit or gets the wheels turning and you figure it out. You ran the monitor and the camera of the same non isolated power supply? What brand of HDMI cable did you use?

Yes I did. Notice HDMI was 'already' plugged in. I believe the cable on the hand-held rig is 'Smallrig HDMI' and the long one I plugged in is brandless from Amazon. The cables don't really matter. Also when you research the burnt HDMI pretty much all with Pocket cams are using V-lock batteries... not seen a single case with NP-Fs that I also use or power banks.

There are USB-C PD to dummy batteries but remember it should not be more than 8V. I have a Micro Studio G2 and sometimes use a NP-F USB-C dummy. I will say that if you can get the 'normal' 12V Weipu cable shown in the video it will be better than a dummy... you can check Aliexpress for cheaper cables.
