Raising Kanan is back for season three. Set after the attack by the Italians, Raq considers whether or not she wants to still be in the game or if the cost is too high. However, the leader of the Thomas family also has to deal with Kanan breaking away from her and Lou-Lou wanting nothing to do with her. Meanwhile, Marvin and Jukebox try to build their relationship after the death of her mother, Unique gets further entangled with Raq, and Famous reluctantly goes into business with Kanan
The series stars Patina Miller as "Raquel", MeKai Curtis as "Kanan", Omar Epps as “Detective Malcolm Howard,” London Brown as “Marvin Thomas,” Malcolm Mays as “Lou-Lou Thomas,” Hailey Kilgore as “Jukebox,” Joey Bada$$ as “Unique,” Shanley Caswell as “Detective Burke” and Antonio Ortiz as “Famous,” with Grantham Coleman joining the cast as “Ronnie” this season as well as Tony Danza as "Stefano", Wendell Pierce and "Pop" and Erika Woods as "Snaps".
I talked to creator and showrunner Sascha Penn about the decision behind destroying Thomas's business at the end of season 2, how Kanan is evolving into the character 50 Center portrayed, if we will see young Tommy and Ghost, and adult Kanan's wise narration.
