I bought the same kit from pirate jack for my 68 f100, and installed went pretty much as smoothly as it could, mine was dual reservoir so I didn't have to do all the extra brake line work you did, basically plug and play from manual drums to power drums. It stops so much nicer now and no need to pump the pedal to stop which I love!

I agree! The kit was great! Eventually, I plan to swap the truck to discs, but this was a great kit to get me there!

I'm actually making the 5hr trip to my Dad this Friday to check out the '62 unibody that he said I can have. I have to dig it out of an old barn that collapsed on top of it -oh boy. Too bad we can't post photos in the comment section! I told him that if I take this project on I want to keep it mostly original but address any safety issues. The main one would be the brakes so this video is super helpful. As a complete newb to restoration and engine work, I have a ton of hesitation and concerns but watching your videos gives me some confidence.

Love the videos man, I just bought a 1963 Ford F-100 step side, I should get it to my house this Friday, cannot wait to see all I have to do to get it back on the road. I’m super excited because my first vehicle was a 1961 ford step side and that only thing different is it’s grill. Always regretted getting rid of it but now I have it back 👍🏼

@@JakeHarrington It looks like everything is clearing ok . Now that it's installed would you be confident about an 8 inch booster ? I have a 66 project.

I subbed!! I'm getting ready to start rebuilding a 1964 Ford P500 with a 292Y block! This helps because I want to get rid of the front drum brakes

Hello Jake, I'm so glad I found your channel. I just purchased a 1963 Ford F100. It needs a lot of work, but the body is pretty decent. A small baseball size rusty hole in the floorboard, both back tail light bottom areas are missing some metal, and the bed is missing some metal. I figured I'd start with making sure I have good brakes. But any suggestions you can give would be so appreciated.

Thanx for the video Jake. What did you for the brake light switch? My 63 Unibody brake light switch is on the master brake cylinder.

Very helpful, thanks, I am right in the middle of power brakes on my 63 -250 4×4. I wasnt sure if I needed a proportional valve or not. Going to try without.

If you have drum/ drum, you should be perfectly fine without a proportioning valve!

Since the stock cylinder has 1 brake line . And the booster/master has 2 , where do you run a second line ?

You have to do all of these modifications with a plug and play master cylinder and power brake attachment?

The main problem was the adjustable rob that goes to the brake pedal! It was not accurately made!
