When you measured your mosfets, you mentioned they 1.5 volts. And anything between 1-2 volts is ok. Is that true for all mosfets? If not, how do I find the expected volts for my mosfet. Also, I searched amazon for the two different mosfets I have. Neither of them are returned. How can I find an appropriate substitution.

Go to the website alltransistors.com to find a MOSFET which is similar or better.

Thanks for info. However, I don't see the mosfet label I see on the inverter.@@brieftodo

To remove the MOSFETs more easily, cut all the pins of all of the dead MOSFETs on the topside of the board, as close to the board as possible, and trash the head assemblies. This does several good things... 1) It eliminates the heat sink effect of the MOSFET pins and head; they are stealing all of the heat off of your soldering iron tip. 2) You only have to remove one pin stub, at a time, instead of fighting with the "blob the whole mob" approach. 3) Without the pins and head, you have better access to the pin stubs. I hope this helps. YT has lots of soldering videos with other tips and tricks.

Nice video. Now that you substitute the mosfet with different one, do change them all or you can mix it up with the old one. Greetings from Nigeria

It will probably work with just changing the faulty one(s) but it is better changing the set just like a set of spark plugs on a car.

Thanks for your input and pointing me in the direction to start looking. My Power watt 3000 fires up in about two seconds goes into protection mode. ever since I’ve had it when I would hook up the power to the batteries there would be an arc from the capacitors charging up. I thought that was normal because it always did it now up and goes into protection. Thanks for your input. Have a good day.

Hello, nice video ! maybe you can help on the following : My victron Phoenix Inverter 12v 750va just doesn't want to start, no led, no noise... I decided to open it and everything seems to be fine : the 3 30A fuses, the small fuse in the switch circuit, all mosfets and diodes. I basically see no short anywhere. It seems more of on open circuit somewhere as no voltage go to the drive board. Any idea where to look at ? are there any other fuses ? Thank you

Thanks for your video!. I'm trying to repair an inverter and out of 4 banks of 6 MOSFETs I found a bank with the "Source" in contact with the board but not soldered. Did the manufacturer forget or do some inverters work like this? Thank you for let me know something about. Alessandro ( Italy)

Hello, 3000 watt full sinus inverter fault light is on. When the inverter is turned on, a relay tripping sound is heard, then the fault light is on, what do you think could be the problem?

Great video! I've got a POWERDRIVE inverter 3000w that worked for about a year and now only powers appliances under approximately 80 wats anything over that it displays overload and shuts off Any suggestions what could be the problem? Thanks,

I got my power inverter wet and it would say overload protection took it apart and it had two bad transistors in it and took them out and it dont overload with a voltage of 70 volts now it get no voltage when put new mosfets in it can I use irp460 in place of irfp260m

Thank you for sharing this, I have a 3,500 watt inverter and I wanted to replace a couple of MOSFETs . The part number of my inverter is FB38N20D P038D and I found one on Amazon with part number FB38N20D P826D, could I use these or are they a different number all together?
@Awynn0 Жыл бұрын
Probably 8 months too late but those are the exact same part numbers (FB38N20D), the second number is a 'batch' number.

that is crazy complicated,too many small components; destined to fail egs002 and the sg3525+lm358, both boards simplify that a great deal; i am converting 2x 2700/5000 watt inverters to those boards

Hello I baught 3 years ago,a convertisseur 12 v 230 v 3500 w, TBE from China. 2 transistors are braught. The references are not written. STRANGE. The diodes are good, but the references are erased .STRANGE. What référence possible for transistors ? I see ,on several vidéos, irf 3205. Can you give me confirmation ? Thank's.william from France

That is a difficult one I would search for a similar inverter made by a known brand and see if you could get hold of a service manual to identify they MOSFETS and diodes used and then try to find those ones or the equivalents. Another way is to find KZbin channels whose niche is fixing inverters / solar energy equipment they often give some tips on how to diagnose the replacement component values.
@williambelajew50333 жыл бұрын
@@brieftodo Thank's. It'not normal,transistors without référence, diodes erased. I send a mail to Aliexpress wich prohibit to sell materiel without possibility of detached parts.And on this case ,convertisseur,the electronique map -schema must be provided.I continue to search in the forums and ,if l find,l contact you. For ce moment ,the most cite ref is irf 740. My friend électronic engeneer thinks irf 840.Thank's William
