Power steering to manual steering conversion for your A body Mopar. My 1968 Dodge Dart is primarily a drag car so I don’t need the power steering anymore. Big weight saving and way more room in engine baby for my small block mopar tti headers to clear. This would be a must for a big block mopar in a 68 dart or any A body Mopar for that matter

Awesome J《☆》Seems like yesterday when I did manual steering swap on my 68 Barracuda & my 73 Dart Sport but it's been 40 & 30 years with no regrets👍✔You'll love it especially with the skinny tires up front🖖🤓🏈

Ahhh. Another great video Joe. I’ll be doing the swap to manual steering with my Dart as well. My car is currently an automatic transmission car but I’ve been gathering all the goods for a manual 4spd conversion. All these videos are great as down the line I can refer to them if needed. Again, thank you for sharing your experiences and making these great videos. The season is almost here and I’m looking forward to seeing you enjoy your car at the track 😃👍

Very nice - I debated a manual steer to dump the pump, but I kept it for now and went to a borgeson unit. With that said, my dreams of a procharger are looking for a mounting location and that power steer location is looking pretty good.

Great video. I noticed that 68 blue GTS because many years ago I had the sister to that one. Blue, 340 automatic, oddly enough a column shift, pearl white interior, black longitudinal stripe and 3:23 open. Also came with the grill center piece and bumper nerfs. Car, for totally stock ran hard like a big block. The one car I wish I’d kept.

Good day brother from mid Tn. I never worried PS on any of my old cars. In the 60s early 70s it was a option and many cars, especially big block cars. never had PS. It was never a issue unless you were parking or maneuvering inside a shop. I'm excited, she is getting closer.

Great videos, will be doing a lot of the same stuff you have been doing to my 68 convertible barracuda big block. Very similar to the one in Peter's garage(been parked for 25 years). Peter actually built my tranny back in the 80's. Will probably get his shop to do the Trans brake set up you did in previous video. Hope to run into you some day down in Vic. I live up island

Great job. With the weight saving your ride height changes, that changes your alignment angles. Toe is one of those angles that will affect tire wear and ET times. You might want to visit the alignment shop. Looking forward to more great videos.

Good choice ditching the power steering setup on the Dart. The weight savings alone will make car quicker. Don't worry about the extra effort of a manual box, once the car is rolling, it's nothing. Even on the street. Tell Pete, his Hemi Dart is incredible.

Did the swap back in 73 in my first Super Stock Demon 340. I was running 1 7/8" headers and no way would the power steering work. I kept the small diameter "Tuff" steering wheel and it was a bit harder steering but no worries for 1/4 mile only.

Great video I just order the rms front suspension for my 68 dart. I see your running stick console and shifter do you find yourself coming out of low gear and hitting drive at the track. Because it’s not a slapstick
@SimpsonsSpeedShop

Lol with all that working out your going to bulk up and put all that weight back in the car lol. It will be an adventure turning at the end of the track. Ok enough joking. Looks like a great plan to go quicker. Good luck with your beast!

Unfortunately for my wife to drive the car it needs a hydraulic assistance . I think I’m going to go with a bracing off the rear of the k member to put in a rack and pinion setup to make it half and half. A good rack will be a good in between.
