My current setup with a cybertruck would net me roughly 45 days of battery backup. That’s crazy. Recommend folks have a span panel installed if they intend on doing this. Zero guessing games on power consumption and what you want to dynamically power during an outage.

How much of the CyberTruck's 123 kwh pack is available for Powershare? How does it work if you already have powerwalls? Does plugging in the CyberTruck act like you added 9 powerwalls to the energy gateway?

You can set the backup reserve % accordingly at your discretion in the Tesla app, therefore you can be comfortable with also having energy to drive the truck if you need to go somewhere. If you already have powerwalls, you will need to update the firmware/software for the Gateway in order for Powershare with the Cybertruck to work along with the rest of the powerwalls system. With Powerwalls you'll have less of a delay in the offgrid backup transfer, while also having more energy storage capacity which can also be charge with solar. Absolutely, the Powerwall 3 battery has 13.5 kWh of energy storage, so with the Cybertruck being 123 kWh, that equates to roughly 9 Powerwalls combined!

@@FransGFE The Tesla website saids people with powerwalls installed already don't need additional equipment. I want to know how it works along with existing powerwalls. Are you speaking from experience? Does the existing energy gateway see the equivalent of about 9 extra powerwalls worth of capacity being available for storage/offloading? (Or whatever % you set to be available for Powershare use?) Does the CT charge and discharge along with the powerwalls at the same time? And if so, what happens when you plug it in and your powerwalls are at 100% SoC and the CT is at 80% SoC for instance. Does it transfer some charge between the powerwalls to the CT to equalize the SoC? Since the powerwalls sort of operate within the bounds of predefined SoCs.

@@kchiem That correct, however the existing equipment will still need an update on the firmware/software in order for it work and sync with the universal wall connector. No Powershare systems have been installed yet with solar and battery. Although, based on the known off-grid dynamic of the powerwall system, the offgrid transfer is usually less than a second. We can expect a similar effect when Tesla allows this funcationally towards the beginning of next year.

During power outage for a week or more, i will need to charge Tesla as well. is it possible to connect Gas generator to power home and Tesla??

Currently a gas generator would have to operate separately from the Tesla system. You wouldn't be able to recharge the batteries with the generator. So first you'd use the Tesla system until it got depleted, then turn on the generator to power the home. Sometime early next year Tesla will have Powershare compatible with solar-powerwall system for complete off-grid use.

Yes, Tesla’s PowerShare feature is currently designed specifically for the Tesla Cybertruck. The feature allows the Cybertruck’s large battery to power homes during outages or charge other electric vehicles. Tesla may expand PowerShare to other EV models in the future, but as of now, the Cybertruck is the only Tesla vehicle that supports this functionality.

I have one installed and working. But the Tesla app shows zero consumption data .. why is that?

It depends on how/when the installer comissioned it. It can take upto 7 business days for the Powershare upate to occur in the Cybertruck Tesla app once its been installed and comissioned. I'd check with your installer on the details on how they comissioned and registered it to your Tesla account.

Our average PowerShare install has been ~$2500, but the price can vary depending on installation complexity.

@@GoodFaithEnergy setting on cybertruck power share can default to a minimum state of charge to 15% so you won’t have to worry about depleting the full battery.
